stock srt-4 overboosting on 93perf tune.

Post by derr12 »

I have an intake and the mopar rice plate (noisemaker), and an oil catch can.
other than that, im bone stock. running 94 octane chevron fuel.

before winter i loaded the 93 octane tune with limited success, had a little knock up top, but other than that....

this spring i loaded the stock tune so i could update firmware on the dsport.

re-loaded the 93 tune. and now i spike to 20 psi in second, more in 3rd gear. i let off right away cuz that's too much boost.

half a tank of gas and the pcm still hasnt "learned" so i pulled the neg terminal for a half hour. Same thing.

only difference from before winter was the firmware.

any ideas?

I had the same problem. Re-load the stock tune back in. Disconnect the negative battery cable for 10 to 15 minutes to clear the computer. Then re-load the 93 tune again.

did that yesterday, didnt seem to help. the one thing i do notice tho is that the boost comes on a little less strongly till just after 4000 rpm, and then it spikes to 19-21+ psi.

somethings funky. there sure are a lot of optiosn to log for. experts, if you are intersted in looking at this for me, what perameters would you like me to log for you?

when was the last time you had a boost leak test done? stock boost levels may be fine and wont over boost, but if you have a boost leak that leaks at lets say 16 psi the wga duty cycle with the 93 tune maybe trying to over compensate for the leaking boost and causeing a over boost.

21 psi spike in 2nd gear is fine, thats what i run. long as your not lean. do you have a wideband? also what is your boost like in 3rd gear? also can you post a log.

also do you have a 30/30 boost gauge or the factory 30/20?

ok, let it warm up and then here is what i logged. so far looks like the bugs are worked out. no more than 15psi for the gears i went thru. here is my log:

I think im good to start tinkering, out of curiosity, what did you find that struck you as odd?
