Always expect to see some ST Knock Retard just before a shift (especially gear 1-2 and 2-3). This is false knock that is being picked up by the sensors but as long as it drops back down to 0, then back up just before the next gear change, it' fine. Like Quick says, if you mash the throttle in 4th or 5th while cruising, you'll get some knock too. The 6.1's are a little more sensitive to it than the 5.7's so you may expect to see 3-4 degrees during the false knock. 5* may be a hair too high but if you can get it down to 3 just before shifts, you're dialed in pretty good without a wideband.
