94 octane gas "may have up to 10% ethanol"

Post by SRT666 »

I have a gas station across the street that sells 94 octane. But it say's on the pump "may contain up to 10% ethanol" The station is a mohawk/husky up here in canada. Is this a true 94 octane gas? Besise them is a shell. The highest shell has is 91 premium. Is it possible to use the 94 octane with the 93 CAI tune? The shell premium say's no ethanol added. Is ethanol good or bad? I am fine with the shell 91 with the 91 CAI tune but if i could squeeze a little more from the 94 octane with a 93 CAI tune then i would like to go that route.
Thanks.

Run the 94 and keep an eye on your ST KR. Almost all the gas we get in NY has 10% ethanol. The Hemi hates the stuff. Theres one station I can get 93 without ethanol from and the truck absolutely LOVES it.

Ok thanks mike. I think i will take the loss and stick to the shell 91 with no ethanol. Sucks that i may/may not be taking a little loss but i have no idea yet how to data log. Once i get familiar i may try it.
What is bad about the ethanol that the hemi's don't like? Wonder how they can say 94 octane if it's shitty gas?

Well the sunoco is not a option for me. There is no sunoco in manitoba. Wish there was! I will stick to shell for now.

I was wondering the same thing, SRT. There's a Shell station here, but I'd like to try the 93 tune. Husky is the only option in MB, as far as I know.

I thought you said the 94 was Sunoco, either way, I'd rather have the 94 with 10% ethanol than 91, especially Shell 91.
