06 Charger R/T 180 T STAT - pls chk my work. pg 2

How difficult is it to change out the T STAT on the Charger? Is it right on top or burried in the engine somewhere?

How do you change fan settings to 180?

Running 91 CAI tune

If the 5.7 is anything like the 6.1 the stat is right on top, left hand side when looking at the motor from the front. Just follow the upper radiator hose.

The fans can be changed in the tune using the Predator.

Thanks Mike. Ummmm...... How on the Predator? Let's just pretend for a minute that I had no idea how to do that.

I don't recall exactly. Somebody who's still using the Predator will have to post. I'm using the Trinity, which may be different. For me though its in the "Modify Tunes" menu.

Went to pick up the thermostate and the Parts store did not list a 180 T STAT for the Charger. Is there a part number? Or any clue as to with size 180 to get?

There are only a few options in the Modify Tune screen. Nothing jumped out at me as having to do with temperature.

Which parts store? AutoZone part number is 4128, NAPA is 165

Thanks again Mike. Going to get the part now. All I need now is Predator instructions on lowering the fan temp for a 180 T STAT.

you select the same tune you installed before... go into Modify Tune, then you'll get a listing of parameters.. . should be one for Fans or Fan Speed, etc etc...

select that to get into the menu for it... then make your adjustments... after you're done making changes, press the center enter button on the predator to save the changes, then press the ESC button a few times to back out of the modify tune menus, and it will prompt you - "Install tune now?" - select YES and it will install the tune changes you made.

Thanks 06MonteSS. Now, When I go to Program Tune it gives me two options. install tool or modify tune. If I select install tune, the different tunes come up. Do I go into my specific tune, or just go to the general, modify tunes option. Under modify tunes, you have options to turn off/on esp, change transmission firmness, alter shift points and then one other that I don't recall exactly. Sorry. I am really lost on this one.

yeah, I'm not entirely sure how yours is setup either, since I have GM, and they are a little different...

Just select the tune you want to modify, then select modify tune, then make the changes.
Once you have made the changes, press ESC until the tool asks if you want to install the tune now, and click yes.

There should be several others. Like Fan Speed, WOT Spark and WOT Fuel.

Ok. Then that was the problem. I did not go as far as the specific tune. I only went to the Quick Adjust Menu. Thanks for all the Help ! ! !

Maybe it will be obvious once I am in that menu, but is there a specific fan setting I should choose or is it clearly marked for a 180 T STAT ???
