2002 Mustang GT speedometer and tachometer cycle

Post by sheriffray »

2002 Mustang GT speedometer and tachometer cycle after engine start. I have the newest software version in the Predator. The gauges did not do this with the factory tune. Can you tell me what is wrong?
Thanks.

This sounds like an issue with battery voltage. I have seen this personally in my own car. All else seemed to be okay, but a good friend of mine who is an excellent tech swore to me that my battery was dying. After much reluctance, I changed the battery and, voila, no more sweeping guages at startup.

Maybe you could try charging the battery before replacing it to see if this helps.

Thanks

Charging the battery did not work, but you are correct. It was the battery. The static voltage was OK, but the battery was weak when a load (starting) was on it. A new battery did the trick. No more sweeping gauges. It probably would have taken me months to figure out. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!
