RE: MUCH IMPROVED!!!
I wanted to bring this thread back to life as I am encountering some degradation in performance as of late. It's begun to ping in high load, low RPM situations. For example, I used to be able to go from a dead stop in 2nd gear, but no recently...it pings and knocks pretty badly.
1. My thought is that I need to add some fuel in the 2K-4K range...will that help?
2. If you think it will help, any idea how much I should add to start with?
3. And is adding fuel a positive number or negative number?
I have an Innovate Motorsports Wideband that was on my 02 GT that I (still) have not installed in the Mach, but the need to do so is increasing.
I've seen some tunes in some threads out here that may potentially work for my setup, but I'm hesitant to just throw in someone else's tune without a Wideband to datalog the AFR.
To remind you of my current setup, my intake is 100% stock down to the paper air filter. My exhaust consists of a Magnaflow catted X and their Magnapack catback. Except for underdrive pullies, shifter, rims, tires, and a few suspension pieces, it's otherwise stock.
Tips / Suggestions / Advice?
THANKS!

RE: MUCH IMPROVED!!!
Since it's the weekend and I haven't recieved any feedback (not unexpected on the weekend), I decided to tinker a bit and added 3.0 (percent?) of fuel in both the 2-4 and 4-7 ranges.
Quesiton #3 above can be ignored as it appears that Diablo has clarified the GUI to show rich vs lean.
I haven't tried this new tune yet (as it's now after midnight here in the east), but I'll givde it a spin tomorrow. I kinda have my doubts though because this is a WOT setting and I don't recall having the issue necessarily at WOT.
Maybe I could tinker with the timing?

RE: MUCH IMPROVED!!!
Well after some driving around today, it's "so far, so good". Not that it's what I want to do (but it's a good way to 'measure') but I can pull away from a dead stop in second gear without issue again.

RE: MUCH IMPROVED!!!
Back again, and pinging again. Back in March, after my last post, I just unloaded the tune and went back to stock and the pinging disappeared completely. Today I installed the tune and it began pinging again, once again when engine load is high and RPMs are low. It also pings at high RPMs. Tonight I added -10.0 (percent?) of fuel in both the 2-4 and 4-7 ranges (richer). I'll see how that drives tomorrow and give you all an update.

If 9r05 is the latest, then yes, I am up to date. (See thread title)mikel wrote:Are you running the latest revision?
I've gone back and installed the MRT CAI and added -10 fuel in both the 2K-4K and 4K-7K ranges. Seems to be working pretty well for now.
