Can you explain what the different modes are and what they do.
It isn't clear on the instructions what each mode is and exactly what it does
Thanks

RE: Autostick Auto upshift modes explanation please
Do you mean the auto upshift disable modes?
If so, different cars have different means of disabling this, so some cars use mode 1, some mode 2, etc.
Try them starting with mode 1 until you find one that works for you.

[Translation] ALL the modes (try to) do exactly the same thing but some of them may not work on your car. ONE of the modes (maybe more?) WILL work on your car.
Here's why. There are a bunch of different TCM versions and the Predator can't tell which one is on your car. It knows the PCM version but you might have different TCM versions for any given PCM version or year/model car. The difference that matters here is that the API for the PCM/TCM communications is different. The PCM doesn't actually program the TCM but sends it a "TCM command" to setup certain parameters. When you select one of the modes it programs the PCM to send this command to the TCM to set it up. If you use mode 1 it sends the command in this form. If you use mode 2 it sends the same command but in a different form, etc. The TCM will accept/understand one form of the command depending on it's version.
Something like that...
Unfortunately Grasshopper chose unwisely when naming the alternatives "mode 1, mode 2, ..." and everybody has been living with the fallout ever since.
