Shifting problems
I have a 06 f-250 with cold air intake and 4" turbo back exhaust. The problem I am having is that when I run any tunes except for the towing tune my truck feels like the transmission is slipping it seems worse when cold. It kind of feels like it is surging while trying to shift. I have posted my concerns before on this forum but have not gotten any help. Do I need a custom tune? If I can't get it resolved I am going to buy a SCT and give it a try.
RE: Shifting problems
Post the tunes that you have had issues with and the ones that have no issues (along with the original backup) so the techs can look at the exact tune on your calid. That will get you the fastest results.

Unfortunately we do nto have any control over the TCM in the U7165, so we cant make the tranny slip, but, 150-200+ extra foot pounds of torque will do that for sure.
May need to service the tranny.
I cant imagine that trying a different programmer will work, unless it does not make any extra torque...

I got the Diablo when the truck only had 15000 miles and the problems always been there, I have also had the transmisson serviced. I tried to pay more attention to the problem today and after the transmisson shifts into fourth it is like the engine is surging before it settles down. Also a different programmer could fix the problem if the tune is different, isn't that the point of custom tunes for different calid's. I am not sure about your response to increased torque making a transmisson slip, wouldn't there also have to be increased load on the transmisson coupled with more power driving it to make it slip. I would think extra power and conservative driving would be the same on the transmisson. Hopefully I can get this problem resolved. I have posted this problem before.
