06 Trailblazer SS - Unable to read P/N of first calibration

Just purchased the predator U7191 for my '06 AWD trailblazer SS at Mopac autosupply in Langley B.C. , and it would not download. I took all the precautions like removing the onstar, and radio fuses, turned off all electronics. We plugged it in, it asked me if I had an automatic trans. clicked yes and then it read the following " unable to read P/N of first calibration tune ". The shop there had checked the unit before the first attempt to make sure it had the most current update, and it did.
So pretty much at a loss, don't know what P/N means, or what could be wrong. My TBSS is a Canadian model and it says it was manufactured on 02/06.

sounds like you didn't have the ignition key turned on...

dont start up the truck or have the the engine running when you go to flash a tune to it, but you do need to turn the ignition key on...

Thanks for the reply. The ignition key was in the "on" position, not turned on or running. That's the situation we're in. Its pretty weird, don't know if this is common. But yes that would be a probable cause if that was the situation.

OKAY, I have to retract that last post. I'm pretty sure that you are right 06MonteSS. I just confirmed with my buddy and it wasn't in the on position.... " FUCK" ... sorry guys... I'll let you know when its on.

yep, thought so...

cuz that's normally the only time you'll get that specific error message... aside from the ecm being locked or fried... heh...

Tried a second time. Worked great!! it woke my bone stock TBSS up completely!!!!
