07 GT Mustang, now Car will not start

Post by Dave1957 »

U7145
v.9r01
Purchased from Summitt Racing on line
2007 Ford Mustang GT

I downloaded the program into my car and everything went fine, but my car will not start
As soon as I turn the key on I get an error on my dash screen that says Check Fuel Cap?? and the fuel pump is continually clicking
I put the Orginal program back in but I still had the same issues. Car will not start
I tried reloading again and now I am getting an error that I have written the wrong program??

Not sure if you have received an answer...but this just happened to me tonight. Did the same identical things you did to my 07 GT and now the car won't start and the fuel pump is clicking. Did you solve the problem? Thanks for the reply!

The remote star is certainly an issue.
There is a statement in the manual to the effect of removing any and all aftermarket electronics from the vehicle.
We have seen remote starts as an issue in the past.
Try disabling the remote start by removing it from 12V completely, and try starting the car.
Also check for any blown fuses.

Thanks

Mike-

I don't have any remote start on my car or any aftermarket electronics. Is there something else that could be causing? Can you recommend next steps that I should take?

Did you attempt to restore the backup file?
Did it let you?
What is going on with it.
If it will not restore on its own, call us with the tool powered up in the car please.

Thanks

I had to have the Car towed to my Dealer
Just was informed from the Ford Dealer that the upgrade fried my PCM. I am without my car for 2 weeks. This is going to cost me some $$$$$'s

Did you call tech support first to force the backup? Many times, the dealer states that the PCM is fried, so the customer ships the PCM to Diablo and they are able to reprogram it. When it comes to diagnosis where the customer pays...dont trust the diagnosis. They dont call it the stealership for nothing.

Having the same problems as Dave1957. Worked with Diablo today to "force" the backup. This still did not work and car would not start. Diablo informed me to have the dealership pick the car up and reinstall the factory program. Dealership called to say the programming was wiped out...would not even recognize the model of the car. They reinstalled the stock program under warranty. Just picked the car up and it's not running well. Does not shift correct and the cruise control does not work. Will have to take it back to see if I can get this corrected. Also, had the car calibrated a few months back to accomodate change in gears and tire size...also wiped that out and speedo is showing 5+ miles faster now. During the "force" of the backup...noticed that speedo was cleared to -------, car now shows higher mileage that had on it.

Worried I'm going to have a lot of trips to the dealership just to get things back to normal on the car.

sounds like the dealer totally messed up with the recalibration procedure. Step one is getting the mileage correct that you enter into the tool. It amazes me how many times the dealer will dianose a "fried" PCM that just needs to be reformatted/programmed.

Talked to Diablo on the phone 3 or 4 times they could not help me. I was kind of left hanging. I even talked to a Ford Mechanic on line forum and he had no solution either. He did say the Remote control had nothing to do with my problems. The final resolution was to take it to the dealer.

This problem just happend to me tonight, went to install a performance tune into the car and when it was done there was the clicking noise, the temp gauge went all the way to hot, the temperature light (hot) was on and the gas cap light was on. I didn't attempt to start from fearing what it would do.. tried to re-install stock tune which it did after a while and still the same thing. I'm having it towed to the dealership tomorrow to see the prognosis..! I'm fearing what this is going to cost since it's not under warranty anymore!!!
