If you return the stock tune, fix the ECM with your vci number, then start the Diablo process, the stock tune that Diablo backs up will have correct tire size.

Podrup42-That would be cool, I'ld be interested in what / any information you have on this. I'm thinking my original setup didn't match my original tires- Mainly because with the larger tires on now my speedo and everything is dead on when I put my original backup tune back in.. just my thought though.
I know the GM at a local dealer who has his techs trying to get the codes from the tech lines to upgrade my truck but they told me it would cost-- $$$ but haven't heard back from them yet to see how much...
Canuck- Is fixing the VCI number something I can do while the stock tune is in or is that dealing with the tech line from GM.
I think I have the right size tire on now because while running stock (Backup) everything is dead on.. before with the original tires that came on my truck my speedo was off by -1 mph.

Well you have to call teck line and give them the vin and then they will give you the vci number witch then lets u change the tire size setting in the ECM its like a unlock code for reprograming throu tis to web thats the program that the teck 2 uses when linked to the pc it does not cost the dealer anything to do this they just won't do it for free My truck had the right size in the ECM before i even got the programer and the abs and brake light still came on When the tune was installed it messes with the ECM side of the cal but does not do anything with the EBCM and what happend was they both read together and and they see a frequency difference and thats what sets the lights. so i guess by messing with the tire sizes on the tunner u are able to get the fequencys close enough to keep the lights off.

vci is a gm thing not a diablo, if you mess with that make sure the stock tune is in.

Got it, I won't take it to the stealer without anything but the stock in .. But I have to say i'm a little pissed off with this whole tire size issue that I've had from day one- When I first got my programmer (Before any custom tunes) I had to set my tires at 31.5 inch tires when they measured 29. then with the custom tunes I worked the shit out of Lew adjusting day, night, weekend, and even during Christmas break.. We worked together trying to get a tune with tire sizes that would work. Then when we would get one that worked it only worked until I re-loaded the backup- Once I would load the backup I would have to start all over on trying to find a size that worked. So I'm to the point now were I won't even contact Lew- At least not until I get my shit figured out, I KNOW IT'S NOT THE PROGRAMMER OR THE WRITING ON THE CUSTOM TUNES-- IT'S SOMETHING IN MY ECM OR ORIGINAL PROGRAMING..
I'm currently running a custom tune with the tire size set at 260/65/17 with my actual tire size at 265/70/17 but my speedo is dead on and the power bands throughout lwr, mid, & high end aren't bad. But nothing like they were on my first tune back in October 2008 which by the way won't work now without throwing the light...
Like I said weird shit ../.
Pardon my language people...
