Where I live in Texas we only have access to 92 octane if you can even find that. I was just curious if I should run 91 octane or 93 octane tune. Any info would be appreciated.

Use the 91 tune if you're just an average Joe. If you have more automotive skills you can put on the 93 tune and do logging to determine how much fuel to add or spark to take out.

You're probably going to find the 91 tune just right. Most of us had to hunt around for the best brand and gas station to use in our area. If they're selling an octane more then that part should be a little easier for you.

It only takes 5 or 10 minutes to swap a tune anyway. Try the 91 tune and log it, try the 93 tune and log it. Then if you wanted you could try adjusting up from the 91 or adjusting down from the 93. The primary difference between the 91 tune and the 93 tune is more timing in the 93.

Thanks for the info. I will probally have to do some data logging to find the right mix. I have been reading some of the charger forums and they are stating the 91 tune seems to be more powerful than the 93. Of course I am sure this is on the butt dyno.

ummm... I suppose that could be true? if you ran the 93 tune on 91 octane gas (and maybe crappy 91 octane gas at that) you might expect a whole lot of knock retard and maybe end up worse than the 91 tune if the PCM over reacted?

But way more likely is you can and will hear anything on some forums. Even if it defies the laws of physics...
