2005 Avalanche 8.1 with mods

Post by Orngasm »

Alright gentlemen I've been looking through the post and have a question. Many questions in the future, I'm sure. I should be receiving my U7193 tomorrow and was wondering if the vehicles computer will compensate for larger tires up to a certain point? I asked the dealer if there was a programmer installed on the vehicle because the mph was correct. This thing is rolling on 35x12.50/18. Stock was 16's. He said they fix it at the dealer. Will I still be able to install the predator? I read that the computer had to be at a factory setting before installation. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking forward to improving the overall driveablility with the transmission. I think I have plenty of HP and torque. Thorley headers and K&N cold air intake... that I can see.

if you get the dealer to fix, DO NOT have a tune from the Predator installed. if they fix first and then you install, the fix will be backed up a the stock tune. if you would ever change tire size after that, the programmer can adjust the tire size.

SO having them already adjust for the tire size will not effect the PREDATOR. I understand the whole go to factory tune before taking it in for repairs. Any other thoughts out there? Thanks for the quick reply canuck.

WOW! I installed the Predator this morning with the 87 octane tune and what a difference. Smoother on the throttle and you can feel the power. Step on it a lil' and it shifts much firmer. The transmission is staying instead of dropping to a lower gear when going up slight inclines. I guess the 35" tires will do that with the factory tune!! I'm happy. Some day I'll get up the nerve to play with all the other options. Thanks Diablosport.
