Any way to get rid of initial "bog"?

Post by sircolby45 »

Ok here is what I have noticed in my tune. In the top end I noticed a nice little improvement. In the bottom end is another story though. It seems to not have any torque hardly off the line. I can't even get it to chirp the tires if the pavement is not slick enough. Is there anything to remedy this?

I have a 4.8L with a 3.23 rear end so that may be just part of it, but if there is a solution to get a little more torque in the bottom end I am all ears.

Note: I have already checked my LTFTs and they showed to be already where they need to be. The only mods I have are Flo Pro dual exhaust(single in dual out) and a K&N air filter.

Edit: Added info: I am using a U7194 version 9ro5a on a 2008 1500 silverado.

You could try a custom tune, but, other than that nope. We STILL dont have tcm support so kinda s.o.l

I notice you have the same motor as me. Do you experience the same issues?(I'm on 87 octane tune though)

Your engine/tranny is not really made for "low end torque"......
Do you disable traction control/sway control???
Throw in the ninnies and tm well......
Heck even my 6L is no rush of excitement off the line but then it kicks into warp and flies!!!

Get a new tranny its not made for low end Tq.

perfect example, my rear gears are 2.73 and i can barely get my tires to hook. To be honest i would give my right....well ill keep it clean here....but id give that away for a set of 3.23 or 3.93 gears. But thats cuz my tranny is made to be hauled off the line and down the track

Yah I knew it wasn't. I was mainly just checking if there was any tweaks to overcome this. But hey I am still satisfied anyway because it really perked up the top end.

You and about a few thousand others including me...It's hard, but I am trying to remain optimistic about TCM support.

I still think it will be a while, if ever.

It probably will be quite a while  ...They're "throwing all their efforts" into new developments for the hemi's. After
all they need to sell new units to make more money... and the already
have our money! There's no NEW MONEY in upgrading and
new features for previously sold units! Understandable from the business standpoint, BUT...
 It sucks for us (the consumer!) Just my .02 !!

I know my 07 5.3/3.73 takes off like a 1988 Astro Van!!!

I haven't decided which Diablo feature I like best yet....
Lack of TCM or Awsome ABS/Brake light issue
to be fair though I should have done a little research I just assumed since my 2000 had support with a crap superchips handheld that all tuners came with it.
I do like the way it looks holding down that stack of paper next to my computer though..
