I just tried to download my factory tune onto my computer and followed the 96-02/ 03-06 pc interface instructions and I didn't have the PC connection option under the options menu. Confused? I downloaded the Vista program being that i have Vista OS. Help? What did I do wrong? Shouldn't I still have the PC connection option in my programmer?

If i'm correct you have to download the program from the download section http://www.diablosport.com/index.php?mo ... ay&pid=134 then download DS Downloader (production version) and install that on your computer. then just follow the steps as the screen shows. If you're predator isnt reconized by the software make sure your using the right com ports 1,2,3,4 if i state correct. And the Baute rate has to be similair as in the software and the predator.
You can try this. I had a problem with my U1794 because the interface instructions didnt aply to my predator.

you want the baud rate to be set at 115,200 for the cable... check the properties of it in the Windows Device Manager...
and yes, you want the com port to be set to 1, 2, 3, or 4...

Okay Monte I'm one step further than I was yesterday thanks to Solid. However, it wants me to hook it to Com3 and those are the usb's on the back of the puter. The cable is not long enough for those. My front usbs are COM4,5,6 & 7. In the dropdown box it's only giving me COM3 option, no others. Anyway to change this? The baud rate was changed so I've done something right! lol

they've had connection issues, and once the com ports and baud rates were changed, bingo! they were working pefectly...

change the current usb port on the back that is com 3, to some other number...
then, go to the properties of one of your front usb ports, and assign it to be com 3...
reboot, then see if you're able to connect...

Sorry that i havent helped you any more. But i didn''t had time to to post :$ So how did it go? My new predator didn't connect automatich aswell it took me about 1,5 hour before firguring everything out. Thanks guys, I will do the re-number thing with the coms. I'll let you know. Yeah, the auto cionnect thing wasn't working to good. Once I shut it off, I only had one option for a com port. Thanks again.

Well, no good news. I called Diablo today and they told me that I needed to install the driver that came with the cable... I did that. Nothing. I looked into it further and noticed there were no instructions for Windows Vista OS. Went to the help menu in the Diablo Downloader and found a driver there for Vista. Downloaded that one and... still nothing. Any other suggestions? I wasn't able to change my usb port numbers... that's a whole new adventure I went through! Help!

So your for sure the computer reconaised the cable?
Did you download this driver http://www.diablosport.com/beta/PL-2303 ... taller.exe ? If not delete the drivers you used. and try this one.
If you did download this one try ro delete everything you installed such as drivers for the cable. And then try instaling them without the cable in the pc. Restart the pc and then when windows is done loading everything insert eh cable in the usb port. Then i hope it will instal automaticly. You can't change any port before the cable is reconized. I don't have the com ports listed here in the device manager aswell because i'm on the work computer. When i get home i will try to hook my cable up to my vista pc. When i connected the cable i was at my dealer who uses XP. So all i'm doing is giving some thought about what i would do.

Gentlemen, I tried everything Solid suggested. I actually see the computer trying to find the driver for the tool. Plug cable in to usb and I get "searching preconfiqured driver folders" after a few seconds I get this "Device driver software was not successfully installed" Please consult your device manufacturer for assistance getting this device installed.

So my best guess is that you have to download the software driver from Prolific wich is the cable manufacture. just to make things clear you need in fact 2 programs. 1 is the software from diablo DS downloader. And the other is de driver for the cable. The driver is need to tell the computer that it is a usb tot serial kind device. the other software is for reconaizing the predator. Try downloading this driver http://www.prolific.com.tw/support/file ... _10311.zip and install it without the cable connected.
