I have the DS U7193 ver. 9r07 rev2. it communicates with my 05 suburban,reads the scaner info, and vech info but wont save the OEM for back up and wont save the tuner file to the vech. All I want to do is correct the gear ratio and tire size. The DS is new
and not been connected to any other vech. please help

you need to have the power adapter and serial/usb cable to be able to hook up the predator to your PC....

then you need to download and install the GMLS2InterfaceInstaller app - which you can download from here:

after it's installed to your PC, it's listed in the menu as E40_PCInterface


now, since the predator has already made a backup copy of your original stock tune, you hook it up to your pc and....

after the predator boots up, go to OPTIONS > CUSTOM TUNE > EXPORT TUNE > ORIGINAL BACKUP -- the predator will start the transfer process of copying the tune file to your PC, and will pause at 5%

then start up the GMLS2InterfaceInstaller app (the E40 Interface app)

click the GET FILE button - it will give you a popup window to select where to save the file, and the option to change the filename. Enter that info and click OK. then it will tell you to start the xmodem transfer process before clicking ok - we already did that with the predator - so just click OK.

the copy process will begin and it will copy the original backup/stock tune to your PC to the location you selected. When it's done, it will give you a popup saying Download Completed OK.

Then, post up that tune file... it will be a .lan file...

When I sent my u7198 in for an upgrade, several months ago, I paid an additional hundred bucks, (plus), and am not the least bit satisfied. I actually thought that while all of you happy lil gearheads were talking about "No DODs", PIDs, stickys, and all sort of other neat stuff, I was going to get my unit back and be just as happy, and COOL, as the rest of you. Boy am I disabling my little smily faces, or what? My 2000 Silverado with the (boring), stock engine, tires, intake, camshaft, headlights, windshield, and gas mileage, was doing pretty good using the predator. But with all you happy chaps signing on board with your 2.5 second quarter miles, and increased mpg, made me want that upgrade really bad. You see, I'm a very insecure little weenie who has to drive a 2000 pickup, and not some suped up GTP or Monte 06, or anything else really COOL. Now, my truck does have increased HP, (at least I think that's what Jonny, Mikey, Johan, and DICK call it), but I cannot seem to get it set so that it performed like it did before I sent it in. I set the fueling, week after miserable week, and yet I cannot get the same combination of mileage and performance I had before. And the fueling plan doesn't stay set. And, I had to go out and spend another hundred on a code reader eraser tool, (by Autoscan), which according to one of these postings is only half that much for one of you really NEAT guys. Why did I need that, you might ask? Because the scanner I previously used came back from the Diablo upgrade program unable to do what it did when I sent it in for a hundard dullers upgrate! It no longer erases on my 2000 Chevy Blazer, which used ta werk. But then when I goes and tells Mikey or Jonny or one of the COOL fellas bout my perdickamint he starts setting me straight on my nomenclature. You see, I don't usually sound like Waaaard Burton, but I doesn't wanna screw up the nomenclature anymores, soes i just wants ta complain a little, see. Cuz up here in hicksville MN, we don't sound like ya'all and we don't know OBDs and CANs and cants. Oh, am i the only one who doesn't have an AFR setting on his tool? Well, I'm damn fast getting a WART on mine. If you're all so damned smart then why don't you write a program that actually does my LOG some good? Your posts are about as bad as yer service! And don't even think about telling me where to buy my fuel, that wasn't part of the deal when I bought this thing. Nor was going to school for auto mechanics; but has any one of you been able to get all the way through both pages of the instruction manual? Pretty nice, ha?

Dear Spikey,

It seems that you are not pleased with the service that you have been given through this site and the fine folks at Diablo that spend quite a bit of time trying to help their customers out with programs such as the one that you took advantage of as well as writing tunes for people, troubleshooting, and majority of the time coming up with a solution to fix what is broken, amongst other things. The upgrade option is something that you will not see a lot of companies doing ESPECIALLY with the way our economy is right now, but Diablo has gone above and beyond the customer service envelope and look at it as a cost of doing business.

You obviously have access to a computer or else you wouldn't be able to spew the BS that is coming from your mouth nor would you be able to show the extent of your education, or lack there of, so you obviously have to understand how consumer electronics works. When you buy a computer, tv, radio, etc...5 years from now you won't see Dell, Panasonic, LG, Sony, or any other electronics suppliers offering you an upgrade. So will you then ridicule them for not upgrading your out dated equipment for mere pennies on the dollar because you feel that you are "owed" it?

Before coming on a public forum and totally making an ass of yourself, how about posting up on here and asking for help with your issues? I am sure that there is someone on here that can solve your problems...that is if you are "COOL" like we are. Your issues can't be addressed if no one knows about them and if you don't give someone a chance to look into it.

So, in conclusion, why don't you take a few steps back, ask for some help, open your damn eyes, and accept the fact that just like all the other problems that are fixed, yours can be also.

Will this update let me log more than 40 seconds of data? right now if I want to log any real data I have to do it with the laptop, because the tool holds less than a minute of data.
