2005 5.3L / 4L60e
how can i get a longer upshift TQ delay into 2nd gear? with the stock tune, the truck hits 2nd gear quick at WOT ( power off, hits gear, power on) with any diablo tune or playing with settings its like the trans slides real easy into 2nd. as if the power comes back on before the clutch pack has time to grab ahold and it slips in... even on another very low mile truck its like that, its not my trans. ive tried this on 4 other trucks, two were 6.0L / 4L80e.
the hole in the valve body plate can not let enough fluid through to engage the clutch pack that quick (without drilling it),.. its definately not easy on the trans.
part throttle it hits great, WOT the TQ is not limited long enough on 1-2 shift. it actually takes longer for it to shift WITH the diablo tune because of the slipping.
and not to be a downer but my truck runs a better 1/4 mile time on the stock tune than with the diablo tune.
IMO by the butt dyno it has more power stock than with a 93 tune. its only this "B" engine that seems to get weaker with a tune, but it does have better low end response and torque. WOT is not so great.

How much psi is in the line with the Diablo Tune for the 1-2 Shift at WOT and what is the stock line pressure @ wot?

i think everyone has that happen, just nobody really knows that its bad on the trans. i work at a transmission shop, i do mostly manuals though. i do know whats inside a 4L60E and most GM transmissions. I dont know the line pressures, maybe have to dig out a gauge and hook to mine and compare.

maybe this time i will get a response or suggestion on how to adjust Tq management myself. Im used to tuning my cars with a laptop, this predator is a bit Atari-like compared to what im used to. (no offence its great for the basic user).

and dont take me the wrong way, im all ears, just dont try to tell me its my transmission, i know better.
and i dont mind trying things to see if it works or not. i help out alot with ECM links software and tuning for other people, i can do it here also. I'm just trying to say the tunes have an issue that needs corrected for stock transmissions, if there were a "kit" installed and the plate drilled out im sure it would rip the tires loose into 2nd. 3/4 throttle and above needs longer Tq reduction.

Have you tried disabling the upshift torque reduction setting?
If so, and it did not help, please post your last tune written and your original backup file here.

9r07 sounds right.. disabling doesnt seem to change it at all. ill post the tunes when i get an extra minute, hopefully later tonight.

still havent had any time to get this stuff posted... been trying to get this motor to stop pinging trribly on 87 octane and it just wont happen.. ill get this stuff on here tomorrow after work, and my most recent tune.

87, BP, citgo, marathon, it doesnt matter.. its the aluminum block HO motor and i dont think your supposed to use 87 in the first place because it pings on the stock tune also. just thought id play with timing and adding fuel.
i can NOT get my USB adapter to work all of the sudden or id have this crap posted, but i have this thing running like a raped ape by modifying the 87 tune quite a bit (but running on 93 now). It seems to run better with less timing than with the higher timing on the diablo (91) tune. i installed the 87 tune just to see and ended up going from there and kinda ended up with it running better than ive ever got it.
now Im wanting to know if there is a way to keep it from shifting from 1st to 2nd on its own with the shifter in 1. I got wound up today and had a nice burnout going around a corner sideways untill it decided to shift into 2nd and hook up... damn 3.42 gears...

are you running 87 octane fuel on the diablo tune? if you are that would be why you have pinging. there is a lot of timing in the diablo tunes, its NOT made to run on 87 fuel. 91 octane plus ONLY on the diablo tune for trucks.

no i was trying to run 87 on the 87 tune. but its a pinging mess.
back to 93 octane - the 87 tune and stock tune runs better at WOT than the diablo tune. Like i said before its only on the B motor it runs like that it seems. other trucks its a great improvement. im noticing my LTFT is off about 5% from bank 1 to bank 2 at any given time also. not sure why yet.

when was the last time MAF was cleaned?

never has been cleaned. truck just rolled 50k couple weeks ago, i havent done anything but oil changes, grease stuff, the basics. time to do the trans this weekend.
the MAF wouldnt cause the trims to be off on one bank only, would have to be an injector on one side or an 02 sensor reading a little off
i can get bank1 to be within 2% bank 2 will be around -4% , if i get bank 2 to within 2% bank 1 goes to about 5-6%
