Greetings,

I have a 2007 Tahoe, i had a someone put a custom tune on my computer before i purchased the U7194. The person used the EFI live to create the tune for my truck. So i wanted a way to back up my performance so if i brought it to the dealer and they flashed over it i would have a way to put my tune back on my computer. So i purchased the Predator U7194 so i could back it up as a original tune and save it to my PC.

Well what happen was i did have to take it in to the dealer and sure enough they had to update my computer. and when i got the truck home i tried to install my first back up of my performance tune back to my truck and i kept getting errors so i find out that the calibration code is different from my second original back up.

sorry for making it seen so confusing but here is my question.

is there a way to change the calibrations codes from one GRG file to another?

Yeah, if you have the .grg you saved from the pred the first time, and post it here with your new backup file, we can make the change for you.

really?? even if the first "original backup" he did wasn't a stock GM tune?? it was a custom efi live tune...

sure, make a cal file from it and apply it to his new backup...

k, so here's an interesting scenario... he has a custom efi live tune on his truck... he used the predator to only back it up as the "original backup" and then saved the tune file to his pc....

now, if he did not "restore original backup" before the dealer flash, then the predator would be locked to the old cal id's and it would not work now, like the errors he's getting... and it doesn't sound like he did.. cuz he tried to restore the efi live "original backup" after the dealer flash, and is getting those cal id errors.

but, if he DID restore "original backup" (the efi live tune) to the truck prior to the dealer flash so that the predator is unlocked... then how is he gonna be able to get the new original backup that you create for him, into the predator as the original backup so that he'd be able to restore it again??? can only get it stored as the original backup by hooking up to the truck - in which case, it will now store the new dealer flashed GM tune as the stock original backup.

ok... but you will not be able to have your first original backups of the efi live custom tune saved in the predator as the "original backup" now...

guess that's what I was tryin to say...

they can create you a new backup tune file with the different cal id's, but there is no way for you to get that into the predator and saved as the "original backup" anymore....

the new dealer GM tune will now become the "original backup" in the predator... and when you go to "restore original backup" in the predator now, it will be reloading the dealers stock GM tune, not your efi live custom tune.
