Issues with my 7131......

I drove about 250 miles yesterday morning with no issues. After I got back the truck sat for about 6 hours. When I started it up to leave work I immediately got a CEL. This is the third time I've gotten one while running this Predator. It's usually not an issue so i figured I would clear the CEL when I got home. Well, as I tried to leave, the truck had less than stock power. It would not build boost and was going nowhere fast! No smoke or anything even if I put my foot to the floor.
I pulled over and hooked up the Predator to read the codes. Once again when I plug the Predator in and go to that section it always tells me "No codes found!" or something to that effect. I have never been able to read a code yet with this thing! Shouldn't this feature work on my unit? Anyways, I cleared the codes, which always does work even though it tells me it can't find any. The CEL was gone and the truck was back to running fine again.

Any ideas on what happened?

You should be able to get the codes by turning the key on and off 3 times, but don't start it. You will have to look up the codes I just do an online search. I can't ever get it to show codes either. As for the CEL no idea...

Ya, I know how to pull the codes that way but I wanted to do it all while I had the Predator hooked up. I just wiped it out while I had it on there. The truck has been running fine since....

Same thing happened again today. Drove 75 miles to Baltimore. Stopped for fuel. Started truck up and immediate CEL. Trucks makes no power but does drive. Clear CEL and all is fine again?!?!?!?!?!?!

Not sure what to tell you on this one, i will have to verify that the pred does not read codes and see whats going on.

well i guess it happen to me.i was driving and had it onon cruise and the check engine light came home,when i got home a few miles down the road i check for codes .says found none.i erased the codes anyways and the light was gone i removed the programmer from my truck till there is any thought on what is going on.

That happened to me too but the truck started bucking like the fuel supply was being cut off intermittantly. I slowed down until it cleared up and that has not happened to me again after several hundred miles....

Ya i get that to but this was the first time that my check engine light has come on.idk im kinda getting sick of this i mean its a new truck ya know i don;t want any issue because of this issues with the programmer and they can't seem to get it right.

Well, I don't complain too much because I have had issues with every box I have tried on this truck. That includes:
TST PMCR
TS Perf MP-8
Quad Std Box
Quad race Box
Predator
Puck
So far the Puck is the only one that hasn't given me CELs and/or running issues.....
I had none of these problems with my 03 and I went through many boxes on that truck too....

i think the newer trucks have much more complicated computers and they are alot more finicky to addons,i mean look how far they have evolved in less than 10years, a 98 12valve could get more power by using washers to shim the pump,ya washers crazy,now theres ecms,pcms apps and allot more crap to go wrong,and what mite work well one one truck may not work on others,but come on bitchen that "they cant get it right"is kinda outa line.do they{diablo}really need to give us custom tunes?do they need to give us special updates{shift on the fly and such}i even asked about high idle for my 71310 and johan says,when he gets time.the idle feature wasnt why i bought the tuner,if he gets time its a bonus for meif not oh well it wasnt a selling feature that came with it anyway, and really diablo could have easily only included the tunes that were in it and thats it,notheing else,custom tunes and custom features are a gift and if they take some time to work the bugs out so be it they are stil a gift, in my mind anyway

I agree. I bought it only for the power increase. The fact that I can clear codes is a bonus. Gee, that's all I can do with mine!! It won't even read the codes........

well mine won't read codes just erase them lol.i like the power though i just not liking the engine missing and the check engine light coming on.

I have gone back to the stack tunes to see if I still get the CELs. I definitely like the non-stack tunes better but like you say, I don't like the CELs. This setup just makes my truck run so much better then all the others I have tried. I'm gonna stick it out and hope these issues can get resolved.........

my predator read a code for high fuel rail preesure once but on the same trip the truck set a fuel delivery code and the controller wouldnt read it it told me there was no code,but there was a light . scanned when i got home with a star scan and found out it was a delivery code. Also mine bucks too but doesnt set a code, seen it happen on other truck with diffrent controller changed the crank sensor and it went away

I have tried it on both stack tuens and regular tuen and just stacked it but the only different wasss that it runs better on non stck mode.but it still misses at idle and buck around 65 and the check engine light will come on if i use cruise for long periods of time with gets annoying cause i donlt want any issues while traveling.
