need help

i just purchased the u7130 for my 2004 qc auto trans. when i went to install it, it read vehicle not found in database go to local dealer for free update, my question is can i do this off of the site with a download or do i actully have to take it to a dealer

when u turn it on look to see what version you are running,if its less than r27 then get the dsloder from the download section here and download the r27 crom file from the download section as well and install it on ur tuner,it just makes it work with the latest #s from dodge,you shouldnt have to go to the dealer,try this first,you probaly have version 24.once u update it should work and u will be pretty hapy with whatever tune u choose,{extreme may harm stock autos}

it says v.8r17 so i assume that what you say will work if that the r stands for version 17 and now they got version 27

wow r17,thats an older one,ya just update to the r27 and u should be good to go,unfortunatly u need some special cords,the pred uses a serial port cord{why no usb i dont know}and a 12 volt power adapter or if u have a laptop u can do it while its pluged in the truck.if ur puter doesnt have a serial port{lots dont they went out with the dinosaurs}then u need a serial to usb cord,about 12bucks from a puter shop.download the ds loader aplication and the r27 file and load it into ur tuner and it should read your truck after all that.keep us updated,when u do get it going,try towing first and maybe perfromance,like stated extreme may damage ur auto if ur hard on it,

Actually there is a version 28, but there have been some issues with that one. So, go with the 27 for now...

I dont believe it was an issue with the revision except that it deleted the ext stacker tune from the puck options. R28 was to be used with the new puffer tunes. R27 is the way to go for now.

downloaded r29 last night and it worked on the truck havent had a chance to drive it yet. i put it on the performance economy setting but i might try tow after awile to see which gets better mpg THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

I just updated so you have RKL and a bunch of others in the sticky for the new revisions.
