O2 sensor tune out
02 Corvette Z06
U7198 v1.03
I have LT headers and have been getting an O2 sensor code (P0138 high voltage bank 1 sensor 2). I currently have the stock tune. I've tried to do some searching and it sounds like I will need to load my predator with a custom tune that "tunes out" the after cat sensors, right? What else will I need to do?
THANKS

RE: O2 sensor tune out
you will have to post your original tune and the current tune here for the custom tune to be created

RE: O2 sensor tune out
Right now, I'm unsure if the harness wiring is hosed or if the O2 sensor sim is dead. In either situation, will the tune out still eliminate sensing the rear O2 sensors? I need to pass state inspection, so the sensors will need to read "PASS" during the OBDII testing.CANUCKPREDATOR wrote:you will have to post your original tune and the current tune here for the custom tune to be created

RE: O2 sensor tune out
you'll need to replace the O2 sim then... cuz if the codes are disabled in the tune, you won't pass...
and that's an OLLLLD revision on that predator... you should consider sending it in to get it updated/upgraded to the newer version... tunes have changed since then, you'll have more adjustable parameters available to you, you'll be able to data log, etc etc.

Re: RE: O2 sensor tune out
So with the custom tune, specific DTC's are disabled? Would the O2 sensors show up as "NOT READY" at all times?06MonteSS wrote:you'll need to replace the O2 sim then... cuz if the codes are disabled in the tune, you won't pass...

RE: Re: RE: O2 sensor tune out
Can you explain what disabling those codes with a custom predator tune will do? I don't understand why the O2 sim needs to operating. THANKS
RE: Re: RE: O2 sensor tune out
with the O2 sim operating, there's no reason to disable the codes... so to the pcm, it "appears" as if there's an O2 sensor and it's working correctly...
BUT, if the sim is not working, and you just go in and disable the O2 codes, then the O2 emissions tests that the pcm runs will never be "ready", cuz you've disabled them... they will always be in a "not ready", or "not run", or "incomplete" status...
so, you will never pass emissions tests...

RE: Re: RE: O2 sensor tune out
How do tune shops "tune out" O2 sensors without O2 sims then? I thought the diablosport predator was capable of doing the same
RE: Re: RE: O2 sensor tune out
shit, I can "tune out" your rear O2 sensors just like anybody else can... but you're still not going to pass an emissions test with them being "tuned out"...
when you go to your state's emissions testing facility, you will PHAIL.... just like with anybody elses tune...

Old Predators could. EPA says no more.
Re: RE: Re: RE: O2 sensor tune out
That is irrelivant. I know of a few "tune shops" that will do your "inspection" also for a small fee. You just have to take it back to them every year and pay that small fee which is normally double what you would normally pay for an inspection.whitetalt1 wrote:How do tune shops "tune out" O2 sensors without O2 sims then?
