06 GTO - Adjusting injector slope value

Post by Dictatorsaurus »

2006 GTO U7191

The first time I installed the diablo tune and did a log, DSLogRedux asked me to adjust the injector slope to +2%. I drove around 50 miles for the PCM to relearn the tune and did another log. This time it is asking me to adjust the slope to -5%.

Should I adjust the slope to -5% or should I adjust it to -3%?

I'm not sure if DSLogRedux wants me to adjust to a certain % value or the difference between the old adjustment and the suggested new adjustment.

DSLogRedux would say to go Down BY 5... so from wherever you have it set at now, you would go down by 5 from there...

so... from +2, you need to go down by 5... so... 2 - 5 = -3%...

adjust your slope to be set at -3%...

got the logs you can post up here for me to look at? there shouldn't really be that big of a swing between them normally... so I wanna check the data you're getting, to see how your logs are coming out.

thanks!

I posted the log above in this thread.

Note that close to the end of the log I had to slow down to take the exit so the ending of the log the RPM goes below 1800. I'm assuming DSLogRedux ignores the values below 1800 RPM. Do you think my log got effected? Does the log look good to you?

So I uploaded two logs. The first one that asked to set to -3% and a new one I did yesterday. The new one I did yesterday is asking me to reduce by -2% which would put me back to the initial -5% which I had it set as.

Note that with both logs I ran out of highway so the end of the log there are RPM readings less than 1800. Please let me know if that causes issues.

The old log is called gto and the new one is called gto2.

yep... just went through your logs... put the slope setting back at -5% and you're good to go...

when doing logs... here are some tips:

1. after making a slope adjustment and reflashing the car's tune, you need to put on about 75 miles to let the ltft's get relearned by the ecm before you do any new logs.

2. have to make sure the car is up to normal operating temps before you start recording a log - you can get your parameters all selected and ready to go beforehand, but then drive for 15-20 minutes to let everything get up to normal operating temps before you click the button to start recording the log...

3. when doing logs, you want to do them in the same weather conditions, or at least as very close as possible - i.e. same outside temps, humidity, sunny or cloudy, etc etc. doing a log on a 50* day will give you different data than a log on a 80* day....

So I drove 200 miles and did another log. Now DSLogRedus is saying: "Adjust Inj Slope UP by 2%, set the following adjustment on the Predator Tool: +2%."

Should I go ahead and make the change?

Each time I do the log Redux is telling me to adjust the slope differently.

I uploaded the current log and called it gto3

what is your injector slope set at right now??

you can't keep checking/doing this every couple of days man... or even every week... the weather temps, humidity, hot, cold, etc etc will affect the ltft's, and you'll just be chasing your tail...

you need to do the logs during the heat of the day, during normal temps/weather for your area.... get 'em dialed in for that and then forget it...

like for me, during the warm summer temps where I am, I have my slope adjusted so that my ltft's are right at 0 to -1.xx... but during the cooler days, or during the fall/winter, my ltft's are +1.xx to +2.xx... I don't re-adjust every week based on the weather...

you need to do the data logs during the warmest season for where you are, and do your slope adjustment for ltft's based on that data...
