U7194 Tweaks for E85 for Maximum MPG
U7194 Tweaks for E85 for Maximum MPG
Hi guys. I have a '07 5.3 L Avalanche with K&N CAI and Corsa Exhaust. What tweaks can I do with the U7194-9R07 Performance Tune (which I assume to be close to what I want) to maximize mpg while on E85? What would be a safe spark advance for example? Will I be subject to leaning out at the top end? Mine is a FlexFuel truck so I don't think so. Would accept a near optimal canned tune too if a Diablo technician has one. I'll be travelling through the Midwest in September where E85 is a little cheaper than in NY but I want to be ready. Thanks in advance. And where's my TCM?

Check the stickies for info on logging and adjusting the injector slope.

Ok, I have done that previously so I'll be using 87 octane tune logged data for slope and WOT PE. How much more spark advance can I give the Diablo Tune when on E85? Can I raise it 1 to 5 degrees? I know to watch for KR and I'd be using DS Log Redux on my U7194. Of course just how much knock is still subjective IMO. You people that use CMR to modify performance tunes must have a general rule of thumb when customizing for E85. Diablo reps have access to the programming and experience from the FLEX programmers too.

I would also like to know a little more on what to do when tunning for e-85. For now I added 2% acrost the board on my timing.

did you do any logging first? making changes with out knowing what to change for can be bad for an engines health. granted 2% change to timing isn't alot, but you really should log first to find out IF you need to make a change, WHAT the change should be (+ or -) and HOW MUCH.
