Brake/ABS Lights after deletion of speedometer 07' Silverado

Post by jvmorgan »

As you can read I am having the classic break light/abs light turn on after the speedo deletion. I am using the U7194 on a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado WT 4.8L. I have tried all of the tricks that I have been suggested from the forum as listed after searching and reading multiple post:

Change tire size up and down
ReInstall stock tune
Install Diablo tune with Speed limiter still on
Turn speed limiter off
change speeds on speed 1 and 2

I am going to attach the tune that is currently in the vehicle as of right now with the warning lights coming on after driving a short amount. I know some have had luck with the tire size change but I personally have not. If anyone could please take a look and chime in this I would appreciate it I am tired of hitting the speed limiter and the strip.

Thanks

Justin

Are you saying when you disable the speed limiter, it causes the ABS light to come on?

Correct the ABS Light comes on and the parking brake light comes on also after driving about 2 or 3 miles after start up. They are not on during the start-up of the vehicle. I did a search and tried all of the causes I am running on the tuner the same program update(9v05) have not updated it since I have read about multiple problems with it.

Thank you sir. No hurry here just wondering if it is a setting I might have changed to cause this or is it a glitch? Appericate all the hard work sir.

it's a known glitch... I haven't seen an 07 truck yet that is able to change the tire size and have the speedo be correct and the ABS light be off...

on or the other is always gonna be wrong, ya ain't gonna get both to be correct...

Yea that is what I figured from reading but I thought I would post and see what the pro's thought. More info for everyone to look it at is always better. How far off has the speedo been for the lights to not be on. I might be able to live with that while at the track.

BTW I was wondering where I can get the link for the NO TCM Support to add to my Sig and I wanted to talk to you about getting a diablew tune for my truck.

I think the speedo is usually only about 3mph off with getting the ABS light off...

for the No TCM image, put this line of code in your signature block in your profile:

Code: Select all

and as for DiabLew Tune info, click on the "DiabLew Tuned!" logo in my sig... ;)

Thanks!!

Well even after the light came on the speed limiter is still activated and I can only go 98 with my truck. After looking at it Mike do ya have any idea's? Monte what have you seen to let the limiter removed via tire size change ect. I am not worried about the speed difference I just want to turn it off at the track. Thanks again guys for the input cannot say thanks enough.

I'll have to look at your tune file tonight when I get home from work...

there's another "glitch" I've seen on some, where even tho the tune has the speed limiter jacked way up to like 160mph, there is a flag that doesn't get set correctly to tell the ECM to use that value, so, it still cuts out on ya at the stock 98mpg speed limit...

I'm betting for sure that this is the issue here as well.

I can fix that for ya tonight when I get home - will have to email you a custom tune...

and that tune file you posted at the top, is a copy of the current diablo tune pulled from your truck, right?

Correct that is the current diablo tune that is intalled into my vehicle right now. That could be it because when I started messing with the speed part on it I started at 160 and worked my way down by 10's with no results and I do not remember where I stopped on that or if I reset both of them or just one back to 160.
I have tried a lot of stuff before posting because I like to understand what I am doing and messing with on my truck and that is the best way to learn is to get them hands dirty. Also a lot of reading on here and me and the search function have become good friends :)

Hey Mike and Monte I didn't know if you all had a chance to look at that tune I put on here and had any suggestions for it.

Thanks
Justin
