New Check engine light
05 mustang gt, revsion 36, C&L intake and tune. Ok, got the correct C&L tune loaded last night and cleared all codes before I loaded the tune (see previous post). I was out for a cruise and the check engine light came back on. I went home and checked the code to find P050(6 or 8 can't remember) and the description read "Idle air control...rpm lower than expected". I noticed that the idle is acting a little funny, if i am cruising at say 2000 rpm and engage the clutch, the idle will bounce between 500 and 750 rpm until I come to a complete stop. Once at a complete stop, the idle will stabilize at 750 rpm. I did not have this problem / code before the install so I thought I would pick your brain a little. Any info. would be appreciated.

RE: New Check engine light
Do you have a stock throttle body?
Is this the C&L street or race intake?
Thanks

This is strange.
Any chance you could try to duplicate the issue with the stock tune/intake set up?
Thanks

Dear galaxiedrvr I had a similar problem, In the summer of 05 I bought the mustang gt and a few weeks later installed, the steeda cai 90mm, flowmaster axle-backs, and preadator steeda tune, at that time Mike L just emailed me the custume tune for steeda 90mm. Anyways, after installing it, it ran great! Then in summer of 06 I installed UPR x-pipe. The tune still ran Ok until around the first few months of 07, suddenly the check engine light came on. I first checked the code but it didn't show on the tool. I don't know why but I heard that the programmer can only show certain codes ie: P-codes, T-codes (also known as transmission codes). So I just cleared the check engine, two weeks later it came on again. Then I did the same thing. A month passed I decided to go to my Ford dealer who is also the only CMR dealer/tuner in the area. The dealer who knows I have a tune in my car checked the check engine light and found the same code you got: P050something it was: "Idle air control...rpm lower than expected". All they did was clean the MAF sensor, clear the code, tell me that I needed a custom tune and $$$. A week later the light went on again. Called Mike L and he told me to revise predator and install it. Since that time (apr07) the check engine light has not come on. My ADVICE Clean MAF, clear code put your car back to stock, revise the Predator, and re-install. REMEMBER***If you have C&L Predator revise C&L tool but if its just a Predator revise 05 MustangGT Preadator then select OEM menu to get C&L intake tune. HopE ThiS HelpS

Check this out guys...looks like that code may be the result of a bad throttle body.
