09 Challenger 5.7 Custom tune "VIN does not match"

Post by StammpedeRacing »

We are trying to tune a 09 R/T that we just installed a Procharger on. The tune we got back from Prochager will not load into the car it says "VIN does not match". I have tried upgrading the software on the Predator. I still have the same error.

Sounds like the tune was not made from your original backup.

make sure you email them a copy of your stock tune and then have them apply the changes to that file and send it back to you.

Also be sure you are following the custom tune instructions from our site and comparing the file to the correct base file when loading it to the Predator.

I put the car back to stock, started over, reloaded the stock tune from the car back into the predator. Then I sent ProCharger the stock file again. When I got the custom tune back it worked. With our first pull A/F was about 10.0 . When we went to take fuel out, the predator went through the motions. I took out 10% and made another pull but A/F was still 10.0 . We then went back in and went to 20% and got an A/F of about 10.7 . Then went in an added 5 deg of timing across the board. That put me at 11.1 until about 4500rpm and it went to 11.0/10.9 . We ended up with 398hp/430tq.

No we worked out way up to it once we had the A/F close. We didn't add 5deg at one time. When we checked it was only at 25deg full advance before we added timing at WOT.

still, 25* at WOT in a supercharged application sounds pretty horny to me, and well, 30*?

Dude!! I cant even get 25 total timing with my N/A application without getting a butt load of knock. I can get a best of 20-22 before the dreaded hemi knock happens. My CMR tune is basically the 93 CAI tune with timing TAKEN OUT in certain areas to get the best HP and TQ. That is ballsy to get 25-30 total on a supercharged Hemi. :)

I am now wondering if timing was responding to change when we adjusted it. It seemed extreme at the time to me but I assure you there was no knock. I would have never pushed it. ProCharger told us timing was "locked" and we could not adjust it. Does it make sense that the option in the Predator was still there but was actually not doing anything when we advanced it? It did seem to effect A/F and HP/TQ. numbers when adjusted. Unless the car was still adjusting to the fuel change. We have had a car on the Dyno that you would add fuel to and it would take two or three pulls to see the full effect of the change.
