I assume you're still running that extreme tank down right? If so before you try that economy out, i think i want to send you a different one. I was looking over the fuel tables, comparing em to stock and noticing they had as much as 10% added in the mid range. Which if your getting 10mpg, thats 1mpg i could be saving you if i return them to stock. This shouldn't give you any difference in pedal response but could make all the difference in mileage. Im actually redoing all 4 tunes fuel tables, i wasn't happy with them, they seemed sloppy to me. I think you guys will like this more then the others, I've got two and economy down and im working on the 80hp now.
Don,

Running on the 2nd extreme tune now. Will have mpg numbers for you within 3 days.

Ok cool steve.

So updates for everyone on the tunes so far. The bucking has been narrowed down and fixed. The hard shifting has been identified as a few particular torque tables that needed to be left alone. I have reviewed the tunes again and again looking for any small issues i could find. A few i did find was fuel pressure was modded alittle too much in the mid range, so it was lowered to get back some mileage, fuel mass was raised in cruise areas so that was also removed. Neither which should give you any difference in pedal feel, if anything it might feel a bit better. Some odd coolant tables were changed due to the differences in cals so i reverted those to stock since there is no reason for them to be changed. Fuel was ramped in as the pedal is depressed to give a stronger, less sloopy feel to the pedal when going from part throttle to full throttle. Currently we are waiting on mileage numbers from the fuel mass being removed. Steve's had some pretty decent luck so far, the fuel pressure should help mileage alittle further hopefully.

On a side project, the dpf tables i changed to try and eliminate the light for the AFE intake did not work, herbs light came back on after 25 miles of driving. So back to the drawing board on that one.

I forgot to mention i upped the boost quite a bit too, should be quite strong now. Stock boost is anywhere from 33-42psi depending on what calibartion the computer is using in the ecm (dependent on temp, altitude etc), its up roughly 10 psi in the extreme tune.

Don, any more luck with the cruise control getting it to work? I have a friend whose predator i just updated for him yesterday, and his cruise didn't work, and he said on the race tune there was lots of hesitation and the shifting didn't feel right. He ended up pulling the unit and is about to sell it, can you offer any help?
Thanks,
Dex

it depends on his calibration family. Don only modified the L20 based calibrations. He is working on updating the older ones. Most likely, your friend doesnt have the L20 calibrations so his truck issues were never resolved.

Yea it would depend on that as concoursd said. When i first started this project it was brought to my attention that the l20 based family was the only one giving everyone problems. But you say cruise doesnt work? Makes me think it is an l20 then since i believe the older cals had it working and i "re-broke" it haha. But yes the cruise issue was sorted out awhile back. Frankly im just waiting on mileage to get back to me. Other then that i have the 4 tunes redone and i think everyone will like these a lot better.

so what do i do then? How do i find out what family he is in? You say it was sorted out awhile back? I updated it yesterday and its not working, so we need to fix that. He is already talking about ditching it for a SCT Livewire or Spartan.

Hey Don,
I have been waiting and reading for the latest crom and very thankfull that you are on it!
I am most interested in fuel economy then power followed by towing.
Can you please send me one of the tunes that you have that gives the best fuel consumption numbers?
Would I still need to download the 9R10 from the download page as well? I'm kinda new to this.
Thanks alot.

That will be on the next revision bill, i already d/l'd it off fords website. Bastards must have released it right when i released 9r10 haha. Just waiting on the mileage increased and well see what we got. I think herb said he got 2mpg up from the last extreme i sent him so things are looking up...just really hard to get any mileage out of these things with a dpf, they hate timing.

well Don i've been driving with that economy tune you sent me, you were right the bucking is still there. And i've only getting around 12mpg, that's the same as i was getting stock. I have noticed my turbo is still running high, around 20psi going down the road at 110km's(70 miles) per hour(it does this without the tuner as well). Could this be why i've seen no mileage gain? If so any idea's the cause of the turbo running so high?? The power seem's good for an economy tune thou, shifting is firm but not to hard. I've hand calc'd 2 full tanks of fuel, over about 450miles. All driven with all my survey gear and 2 quad's on an atv deck on the truck. I also have 35" tire's on the truck. And my PowerPuck is set at about 50%. Hope any of this will help!!!
