Trans shift 02' PSD

Post by msc42783 »

02' f250 U7170. I plugged in the formula you gave me to adjust the trans shift point. Rev/mile = tire size. So my formula came out to be Nov=(582*3.73)/60 which =36.18. I plugged this into the base nov setting on the modify section of the programmer and the shifting was pretty bad, is this right? I put it back to the previous setting which is better, but still not where I want it. When I drive normal it shifts okay, but when I get in the gas just a little or when I give it gas to go up a hill it shifts into higher gears to fast. I am running 325/65/18 tires with a 3.73 gear and an automatic trans. I just want to program the tire difference in to make it shift better. Thanks.

since every tire tends to be different, revs per mile might change. Try the manufactures website or tirerack.com. What brand of tires are they make/model? I got 599 for revs per mile for a similar sized tire but no guarantee that that is correct.
