Please password protect

Post by tnek »

Im thinking of getting one of these but have a suggestion. How about a password required to change parameters in the tune area?
The reason I say this is if someone is scrolling thru menus or if someone not famiiliar with the unit is driving the car and plays with it the chance of someone making a change that could cause some serious problems.
It looks like the display is an interactive touch screen so it should be very easy to incorporate a 3 or 4 digit password on screen to keep accidents from happening. Or even a program mode vs monitor mode. I know in industry this is comon practice on machine tool equipment, drives units, PLCs and so on. Its saved me from a couple of fat fingers in the past.
Just something to consider.

There really isn't a need for this, because before you flash with modified parameters it tells you the tune has modified parameters. Plus, it changing parameters doesn't happen by accident.
The apostrophe does not mean "Look out, here comes an S"!

"I couldn't care less" means it is impossible to care less - "I could care less" just makes you look stupid.
