you know i was thinking today about this tcm issue. if a person could pickup a used superchips flashpac unit and install it first and get your tranny setup feel the way you like it.... then use the pred and tune the engine side of things. i would think it would use the superchips tune as the original backup. since the pred DOESNT HAVE TCM SUPPORT... it wont talk to or communicate with the tcm module.
so now you should have a better shifting/firmer tranny with pred tuning and modifying.
ive never tried this but im not sure why it wouldnt work. if you could find a used superchips... that would by far beat the cost of buying a new trinity or intunes/whatever its called.

I would dare say a very small percentage of U7194 owners have the 6 speed. Most of them have the 4l60e which does have a removable TCM so what is the argument there? Blackbear can also provide a data cable tune which will talk to the TCM.
The Superchips tuners even support the 6l80e so what's the deal?
Sure the predator has more adjustability than some tuners on the ECM side of things but for a mostly stock engine it is just pointless. I mean what is the point in adjusting fuel trims when they change on a daily basis anyways. One can get a custom tune with the diablo products but they will have spent way more $$$ in the end than if they just bought a custom tune to start with.
What I gather from the situation is that Diablo knows exactly what it takes to have TCM support, they just are not being completely honest about it. The predator owners were promised TCM support and it just simply will not happen. Sure Diablo customers might get TCM support from a newer product but that is not what they were promised. Other handheld manufacturers offer TCM support and have for a good while.
I'm sure Diablo has their reasons for keeping consumers in the dark, but guess who that decision benefits.

I just bought a 2009 Silverado with the 6-speed. I've been waiting for progress on the TCM support, but obviously, since THIS thread has been going over 2 years, it's not happening, so I'm not buying a Diablo programmer for the new truck.
Does anyone know of a product that would allow me to modify the trans behavior, mostly the TM, on the 6l80e? So far it looks like a friend and I will have to figure out HP Tuners...
DiabloSport, if you actually had admitted that there would be no TCM support instead of leading everyone on for 2+ years, I'm think about waiting, but this is ridiculous.

blackbear can tune the 6 speed, he just has to do it in person.
he visits a number of areas for car shows etc., and you can make an appointment for a custom tune while he's there. i'm in south mississippi, and he was here for 3 days during the annual "cruisin the coast". contact them and they may be able do do a tune for you.

I have a 2007.5 2500hd 6.0l with the 6l90e, I love the power I have now, its somewhat of a monster. the only thing lacking is the sweet granny shifts I still have. I called DS tech line before I ordered about tranny support, the answer I got was "it will be ready within the next month as a update" now that was almost 3 months ago, guess im another sucker on the DS tranny support bandwagon. Any body have any experience with superchips or hypertech as to how they perform on these newer trucks.
if you scroll down the threads you will see i have logged a truck with superchips tune and pred 87 tune on my truck.longbeds4life wrote:I have a 2007.5 2500hd 6.0l with the 6l90e, I love the power I have now, its somewhat of a monster. the only thing lacking is the sweet granny shifts I still have. now... if you look thru the logs you can see that the one log there is basically no spark retard thru the whole shift. they must have upped line pressures also set cause it shifts WAY quicker and fimer over stock. on my log you can see how the spark is retard to the negative range during a shift. i guess its basically not that long only maybe a few tenths of second but you can feel the difference with the superchips for shifting. for the tune... the afr is much richer. mostly like stock fueling but their spark is more advanced from what i seen in the log.
i wish i would have looked on this forum about the pred before buying then reading there is no tcm programming a person might as well had a custom tune done and tcm would have been redone also. the pred is a good tool and can do some cool things but its not quite the complete programmer i thought it was going to be... then for diablo to say " its coming, its coming" . what is it...2 years later now and there will never be nothing for the pred... have to buy a new style programmer. thats bullshit diablo!

I just bought a cortex tuner for my 6L90E just for the tranny shifts. I wonder how the truck will do compared to the diablo. I just wish they would come out with the intune so we could be done with this crap! The good thing is if I like the cortex tuner I can sell my diablo to a friend and vice versa withe the cortex. I'll let you guys know on tuesday how the truck feels thats when it should be here.
