Another Q ? from an old user but, have been gone for a while and need to refresh. I bought two 7194's back in mid 2007 for two corvettes I own (07 Z and 07 Coupe).
Sad to say I have not done anything with the initial predator performance tunes I put in these two cars since purchase/install. Do these 2/3 year old units have the "capability" to be updated with the latest manufacturer tune/predator performance tune from this section ? Or do I need to update the software in the units before I try to download the updates from this site ? Thanks in advance for the assist....

this "upgrade" program is only for older tools, the 7192, 7193, 7195, and 7198's...
the 7194's are already able to do internet downloads and save data logs, since they are a newer tool...
you can download the latest revision update from the 7194 download support page:

Is this an actual 'hardware' upgrade or just a software upgrade? I know it says hardware but from the posts, it sounds as though it just updates the firmware.
If hardware is correct, are all of the guts updated with new hardware?
Thanks!

firmware = hardware....
software would be, well, software re-programming...
the "hardware" upgrade is actually new hardware - pc boards, memory chips, capacitors, resistors, flux capacitors, etc etc etc...
it IS a HARDWARE upgrade....

Sorry to beat a dead horse but I have a U7198 with Revision 2.13 on it. Two questions:
1: Is the hardware upgrade offer still available?
2: When was this tool last considered to be current as I bought it from a large performance shop on June 27, 2008? Should I have this tool or should they have sold me a more current version that did not require me to spend another $99 plus time and shipping?
Thanks in advance!

1. yes, still available - info is here:
http://diablosport.com/index.php?name=P ... ic&t=10946
2. well, the newer versions of the predators on the new 9rXX revisions were starting to be made around june 2008... however, dealers/vendors still had their stock they had to sell, and probably didn't have the new ones available to them yet at that point... so for back then, it was current and was on the latest revision available for it when you bought it...

Quick question. I have an older U7193 that wont work with my 2003 Silverado. Will this upgrade allow it to work with my truck?

what doesn't work about it?
does it give you an error message? what is the error message?
it may be that your truck has an old calibration ID that is not supported and it would need to be updated by a dealer flash...
the upgraded 7193 MAY work with your truck, if it's a calibration ID issue and that ID has been added into the new update files, but it may not either and your truck may still need to be updated by a dealer flash before it will work - all depends on what the issue is that you're currently having.

The message Im getting is something like "Unsupported Vehicle" It pops up after I enter my transmission type. Should I take it to a dealer and have them do a flash update?

So do the Calibration ID's need updating, or just the predator, or should I do both?
