I think I might have found something interesting regarding this issue.

I tried restoring my backup and it failed stating PCM:error unlock for reflash (-1). This is a new programmer that was up to date when it was purchased and the stock PCM program was backed up successfully the first and only time I installed the 87 perf tune. After searching here I figured out how to fix that BS and I was on my way with the restore to stock.

So, just to test some theories, I sent the 9r05 crom to the device - I noticed Stage 1 and 2 completed fine, but Stage 3 (where it actually sends the tune to the device) that it quit sending packets at exactly 971 out of 2472 - but still told me it was successful.

I tested this again with 9r06, and again it stopped during Stage 3 at exactly 971 packets out of 2513 - but showed successful.

Once more for confirmation I went to 9t07b and in Stage 3 it quit sending packets at 971 out of 2515. Again, it showed successful.

Can anyone else repro this? Is this proper functionality when installing the crom when in Stage 3? I'm guessing the rest of the Stage 3 packets that are not sent are the missing TCM file.

Mike L - if you want me to capture this process in an AVI, I will do it for you so you can see if it's normal.

Let me know.

turning right off of a stop

Majefski - i see you say when you turn right off of a stop you get a jerking motion from the transmition shifting. My though would be to try to turn the MDS off and see if it is a torque managment issue. Let us all know what happens when you do that. I have the same truck, however i am currenlty deployed so i can't make the change.

Netman66 - Not to be an ass or anything but keep this on topic, this thread is for figuring out what the hell they did to the 9r06 CROM to make A LOT sorry A HELL OF A LOT of the 05-06's have issues tuning the trans, your issue is unrelated with the 10's so start your own thread.

Now back on topic...

Mikel - You STILL have not answered or even come close to explaining WHY the tuners that you say are bad WILL show a TCM CALID and WILL allowe us to adjust the trans features and tune the trans when using the 9r04 and 9r05 but WILL NOT allowe us to do it in the 9r06 or 9t07b CROM ONLY. IF everything works and writes correctly for the previous 2 CROMS WHY is it a tuner issue because it wont work with the new one? You keep dodging this question. [/b]

Netman66 Isaw the same thing I just did not really give it any thought. Hellspawn, my 05 Daytona shows no trans cal id or anything related to trans control, even on the 9t07b crom.

Honestly, I have asked several times and am feeling the same way.

Maybe there are too many threads here?

This is the FIRST I have heard anyone state that YES, 9r04 and 9r05 will read TCM calid and 9r06 will not.

Thats what I have been trying to get at, since me going to engineering and just saying 'its not working' gets me nowhere...

I am not dodging anything, believe me, I want this fixed asap more than any of you could imagine...

So again, what I need to know, is....who has a predator that will read calid on the older revs and will not on the latest rev.

please include your year as well.

Id go through the last 10 pages of people saying that they have it on the 9r04 and 9r05 CROMS but not on the 9r06 or 9t07b CROMs but that be a lot of cutting and pasting...

My truck:
- 2005 Ram 1500 - 5.7 HEMI

- 9r04 CROM - READS the trans / HAS adjustable Parameters for Trans (partial up/down Shifts and WOT shifts) - SHOWS the TCM CALID

- 9r05 CROM - READS the trans / HAS adjustable Parameters for Trans (partial up/down Shifts and WOT shifts) - SHOWS the TCM CALID

- 9r06 CROM - Does NOT read the trans / Does NOT have adjustable Parameters for Trans (partial up/down Shifts and WOT shifts) - Does NOT Show the TCM CALID

- 9t07b CROM - Does NOT read the trans / Does NOT have adjustable Parameters for Trans (partial up/down Shifts and WOT shifts) - Does NOT Show the TCM CALID

Ok, So I'm running the 9t07b rev and I CAN read both TCM and PCM. I also believe I could read the TCM and PCM in the 9r06 rev (I can't be 100% sure though).

I also have under the modify tune parameters:
Part Throttle Downshift
Part Throttle Upshift
RPM Shift Points

I did not have any engine or trans control capabilities with 9r06.
My programmer was a U7137 from the factory and the truck is an 06 model.

I'd like to keep the trans shifting issue I'm experiencing in this thread as it may be a result of the trans control part of the tuner that only I (and I would assume other 06 owners with U7237 tools) seem to be able to change the parameters on.
On that note, I took LuckDT's advice and disabled MDS. I'll test this out and post up in a few days if the shifting issue continues or not.

LuckyDT, you said you were currently deployed... I'll assume military then. If so, you be safe and come home in one piece.

Hope this helps...

Majefski,
Yes i am in the Marines currently deployed. I should be back statside in the next couple of months and can't wait to try out the new additions to the Diablo. Hopefully by then most the bugs will be fixed.

My truck is an 05 Hemi and does exactly the same thing as trukin stated in the above post. My U7137 was always a U7137 not a conversion.

OK, good....a pattern is developing....05 models.

OK, please try this:

Before you plug the predator in, make sure the key is ON, then go to options/troubleshooting/showcalid and see if it has TCM calid.

Thanks!
