you suuuuuurrrre you don't have an aftermarket MAF sensor in that thing? Sounds like the choke cycle runs fine, then when it warms up your running bad....

I mean, that's a critical observation. You may have another sensor/solenoidvalve failure somewhere. Is it throwing any codes. The Pred can tell ya that.........

Or how about this hypothetical question:
What if the guy that owned this car before me had the car tuned already and I am trying to install the diablosport tune on top of an already tuned car? What would that do?

I am taking it to the dealer this week sometime to get some new strut mounts (under warranty), should I hve them flash all my modules back to factory and try this again?

No it has never once had a ses light or any light come on.

And no, it is a stock maf and stock airbox and everything. I did do an iat relocate though. Could that affect anything?

if it has another tune on it already, that would be bad....

but now that ponders the question, if the engine is all stock like you say, why would he have gotten a tune???

send me a copy of the original backup tune, I can compare it to others I have and tell ya if it's a stock tune or not...

But ust to be sure how can i tell the difference between oem and am maf? Will it say "GM" on it?

stock one wouldn't have GM on it.. .would just have a couple of arrows on the sides, indicating airflow direction...

aftermarket ones usually have THEIR names on 'em tho, like an SLP, or Granatelli, etc etc...

OK here is what I will do.

1. I will remove the IAT relocate just to eliminate that as an issue. While doing that I will look closely at the maf to determine oem or not.

2. I will run pred diagnostic on car to see if any codes are present.

3. I will try tune again. If it still runs bad I will run diagnostic with the tune on the car to see if any codes come up with the tune.

4. If that proves fruitless I will send the dude with that pretty blue SS my backup tune.

SOund like a plan?

The MAF is Delphi. Never heard of them. Is that what GM uses or is that a dreaded aftermarket?

Thats stock...but, the SLP units are Delphi as well, were there any non-GM markings on it?

It just says Delphi in sparkly letters and has various numbers stamped on it in different places.

nah, those are just the calibration ID's of the different modules in your car...

yeah, that IAT relocate shouldn't matter... wouldn't cause it to run like you describe...

3. I tries the diablosport and the 91 cane tune. Still ran bad. No codes still.

So guess I will send you my factory tune. Where can I find instructions for that?
