Cookiemanster wrote:Doesn't work, I've reloaded my original tune a number of times when going in to the dealership. The problem shows up on every re-load of the Diablo tunes. It's something that wasn't there back in the "tune on the fly days", it appeared right around the time the speed limiter was freed up. The best way to describe it is that it almost sounds like it's trying to do the 3 cylinder idle but doesn't increase the idle speed at all. It will do it quite regularly anytime the truck is left to idle for even just a few minutes in park ( hot or cold ) as long as the outside air temp is below 0 degrees celcius or 32 degrees for you guys.
Have you restored per the method I outlined here, or simply by doing it through the performance tune menu?

There is a difference...

just a quik question to johan or mike, did u ever try the sugestion i made earlier,if u splice the tstat wire it fools the engine to thinking its cold and the auto high idle comes on,i ran a switch thru mine and use it as my high idle all the time, works awsome, when i flip the swith the engine goes to 1100rpm and the temp on the gauge goes to 0,maybe if u try that u can recreate the prob in the shop and fix the isuue,i also wonder if it could have anything to do with getting a reflash at the dealer, ive read some guys truks dont repsnd as well to a tune after a certain reflsh, just a thought, mine works fine always has just shootin ideas out there

Mine has been doing this for two winters now. Guys ask me if I've got a hot cam in my truck. Touch the brake or throttle and it goes away. Summer is fine, only does it when the coolant temp is low and the factory idle up feature comes on. Takes about 30 seconds after you first start up truck. Has to be something with the engine temp/fast idle setup on factory programming, hopefully it's not damaging anything. I've asked about this a few times, no fix yet I guess...

Yea i've been dealin with it all winter. Started this thread like 3 weeks ago. But i can see from some of the other posts that this has been a problem for a while. Makes me wonder why its fixed yet. Maybe diablo should offer to buy our tuners back. Customers shouldn't have to question a company for 3 weeks or a year to get answers which still arn't there. I've even offered to send diablo a OBD2 recording of my truck so they can analize it and figure out the problem.

06 same thing

Good luck with this one guys, i have tried to have this one fixed for "2" winters now. At least it's getting warm enough to re-install the programmer. I have an 07 and there is no way i can run even the performance/economy tune. I sure hope Diablosport gets this figured out by nect winter, but i'm not holding my breath. I said it once and i'll say it again, if you really want to simulate this problem in Florida go rent a refrigerated van body and put the truck inside. I think it's about time you guys rwally put some effort into this problem.

2 winters now, that seems to be right. I am going to start another post and ask a simple question on this topic and see what the response is. Watch and see.

hey guys my loping has smooth out with the lastest tune by doing a reset, I cant remeber excatly how but u have to go through the trouble shooting screen or options...somrthing like that I know the diablo guys will chime in how to do this, and now my cruise dosent surge NEARLY as much as it used to, i can use it with other ppl in the truck and they dont have to hold on like there riding a rodeo bull, but does surge every now and then, but very tolerable compared to what it used to be, Just my 2 cents.

Options/troubleshooting/restore original backup, then reapply the tune....

So I'm still haveing the high ilde lope, truck goes into the high idle mode less now its warmer out. But the truck started a odd random miss at idle. I took the tuner out a few weeks ago, still does is just not as often. So we took the truck in for warranty, dodge call complaining about the hours not matching the KMs! They said it had 250 hours on it. And we've got 44 000 KMs on it. kinda doesn't add up. So not only does the preadtor not run right It KILLS WARRANTY Thanks guys. I'm really not happy with this tuner. I honestly think you guys should buy it back from me.
