06MonteSS is correct. If the last tune written by this tuner says "original backup" it is unlocked for use on another vehicle. The vehicle in question here is not supported by the predator.

Do i have to take it to a dealer to find our if its unlocked? ThereS no other way because mine says unknown tune. Does that mean its locked?

Power the predator up. Go to options/show last tune written. If if says original backup it is unlocked and can be used on another vehicle at this point.

Under options/ show last tune written it says UNKNOWN TUNE. Does that mean its locked?

If it says UNKNOWN TUNE this means the predator was updated to a newer revision without restoring the original backup to the vehicle it is married to. So at this point this predator is locked.

Ok thank you. Is there a way to send it in and get it unlocked for a fee? The person i bought it from sold his car.

The only way this unit can be unlocked is by going back to the revision that was on the predator before you updated it. At this point the last tune written will be listed by something other than unknown tune. When this accomplished you can restore the stock tune to the vehicle it is locked to if available. If this can not be done it can be unlocked by us for $129

Yea the person i bought it from lives about 60 miles away and said he sold his car. He said he had unlocked before he sold the car. Aparently not. I will have return it and pay the fee.

Or do what I said about 10 posts ago ( I swear I broke down your options with the last tune written instructions but nobody else read my posts). Since you are hosed, give it back to the other guy for a refund. Dont throw good money after bad. The most your gonna get from a used predator is a couple hundred bucks maybe. What did you pay for the unit? You do know that the $129 fee does not include the shipping and handling charges from DiabloSport, right?

I only gave $150 for it. Which i thougt was a good deal lol. The guy wont answer his phone now and i met him at a gas station close to where he lives. He had it listed on the indianapolis craigslist. Im hoping if i get it unlocked i can trade it plus a little cash for the sct thats compatible with the 94 v6 mustangs. Can a local dealer unlock it? Theres one about 45 miles from where i live. Wen i got to the last tune written and click it then it gives me a calid and a vin with a bunch of dots then a b.

don't send it anywhere until you call and talk to them...

cuz certain ones, they're able to do over the phone - so you may not have to ship it anywhere...

you need to call them...
