20 questions...-3 to +7 LTFT adj on '07 5.3? Whats the deal?
RE: 20 questions...-3 to +7 LTFT adj on
ok, cool man... will check things out...
yeah, no need for you to worry about doing WOT stuff...
I will go through and get that all tweaked in the custom tune... you'll just need to provide me with data logs that I need...
but, we're good to go for now.. anything I need when I send you a tune file back, I will include full instructions on what's needed next, how to import/install the tune, etc etc.

Yeah.... I think i somehow managed to upload the original tune file to the Predator under your custom tune file name. I'm still not sure how I pulled that off, but I believe I did. That'd explain why the new tune didn't seem as strong as the tune I had with adjustments LOL! I deleted the stock tune saved under the custom tune name out of the programmer and am going to re-do at lunch in about an hour and a half. I can't wait to see what the truck feels like!

RE: 20 questions...-3 to +7 LTFT adj on
Going back through the steps in your email again I have no clue what happened. It asked me something about my original/stock tune (something like that, but not anything about a base file) after I had selected the Yager tune for upload and I selected yes (since I had already downloaded the original tune before. It took me to another box where I selected the original tune file and it uploaded what I am pretty sure is the yager tune file. I went to load the tune and it didn't give me the message about resetting parameters and I accidentally installed it, so I went back and modified the tune to reset all parameters and then hit escape until it asked me if I wanted to install the tune. I believe it may be the correct one b/c the DOD didn't activate while driving back to work, but the TC is still active. I didn't have enough road to test if the speed limiter was off or not yet. BTW When I erased the tune from the handheld earlier, I just did it from the options menu, but I assume that would've done the trick. What are your thoughts on all of this? I was pretty confident with this until I jacked up the last attempt, so now I have no clue if I did what I was supposed to correctly. Should I go back and restore the original backup tune to the truck, and start all over again?

Just read your last email again. You didn't disable the TC, correct? If that's the case, then I got it right the last time most likely! Sorry if I am being a PITA, just shook me alittle when I jacked that first x-fer up. Especailly when my end of that process isn't exactly rocket science. LOL

oi vey...
k... yeah, the "original backup" is also referred to as the "base file" on some tools... so that's fine..
let's do this..
restore original backup to your truck...
once that process is done, unplug the predator... start up your truck for a few seconds, then shut it off...
then connect the predator up to the truck again... turn your key on like you're going to install a tune...
select a diablo tune to install...
it will make the copy of the original backup and will save it...
then you'll be at the menu to Install Tune or Modify tune...
at this point, you can just unplug the predator... do not install the diablo tune...
now, go back to your pc and import the custom tune to the predator...
you select the custom tune file to import "Yager_DiabLew_Tune_1.grg"
then when it asks you about your original backup tune file, browse your computer and select the original backup tune file you saved the other day - "Original Tune.grg"
if it asks you anything about a TCM file, select NO.. there is no tcm file...
then click ok, continue, or whatever it says at that point and let it do the import...
then, go back to your truck, connect the predator, and install the custom tune....
it will not ask you to reset all parameters this time - because you did not change anything or even install a diablo tune, so that's fine...
it will just install the custom tune...
and once that process is done and complete, you're all set to go...
the custom tune will be in the truck, just like it should be....
amongst allllll of the other stuff I did, yes - I set the speed limiter to 155mph, DOD is disabled, yes - traction control is still on - I didn't disable that, cuz you didn't tell me you wanted that disabled at the beginning, but I'll get it the next round...

See! I told you I was pegging the PITA meter! LOL I'm sure I have made a mountain out of a mole hill and will be laughing about it later. I'll pull my head out and get this straight. Thanks for all the help! Yeah, I'm sorry I forgot to ask abt the TC. I guess I thought you'd just read my mind and be able to magically do everything I was thinking LOL! My bad! I'll let you know this evening how it goes. The TCM file thing got me all excited for about a millisecond, then I realized this forum would've blown up if we had gotten TCM support:)

Got 'er done! I am pretty sure I had it right before that, but now I have the warm and fuzzies that I have it done right this time. LOL. I'll get some miles put on it and get you some logs. Just watching data already, things look pretty good, but it was abt 10-15 cooler today than when I made the other log. Temps will be closer tomorrow after I get 40 miles on the truck. I'll make another cruise log for you to look over and some WOT logging for you. Any particular # of WOT runs you want me to do. With the datviewer, I can pause so just tell me your preference. Thanks!

hahah.. that cruise log isn't crazy man... dslogredux told you "no data", because your ltft's are perfect - right at 0 !!

oh, and don't be goin' changin anything in these custom tunes yourself by the way!! cuz if you make your own changes, and then send me data logs I ask for... that will be data from whatever YOU adjusted things to, not what I did... and I won't know that...
so, no touchy touchy!!
you can look, but don't touch!

BTW, is 40* (or %) torque managemant spark retard from the TCM or is that something you can get rid of? Just seems excessive to me, but what do I know... LOL.
