The 03 models are set up very different. They do have limited capabilities.

the texas law regarding inspections says one not ready is still passable on a 2001 and up and my last few inspection reports have passed with all readys. I need to get my rear 02 turned off before my inspection in June so i can try, if it doesn't work i will just load my regular tune and drive it a while until it goes to the ready status. Is there a status monitor pid for the obd2 on the datalogging?

Besides throwing a code, does removing the cats and leaving the secondary O2 sensors in the pipe impede the performance of the vehicle at all? Like reducing power until the code clears etc?

Fran, this thread was in reference to an 03 Ram.

When you came in and asked this, you did not specify anything...

There is nothing keeping you from disabling rear O2 sensors on any application supported by CMR, not sure why you assumed otherwise?

no, the rear o2 is just a cat monitor it has no bearing on performance. many guys do this with no ill effect.

Jeeze!! I wasted $40 on a sim I didn't need. We don't test here!! I can pull the cats, sensors, and bulb with no ill effect and if we ever test I can just throw it all back on the truck.

Cool.

i wouldn't pull the bulb in case you get some other codes that could have bearing on performance. I would have the rear 02s written out to clear the rear o2 code though

i have heard some guys actually wrap the rear 02 with foil and tuck it up into the heat shield and it makes no difference on how the truck drives

I don't think he's saying you can't, I think he is saying you can't and pass inspection.... That's what I'm getting anyway...

bighemitex wrote:it can't hurt to try it, but it is a waste of time. the guy i mentioned is an expert with those electric sims and he said it won't work on the hemi pcm. if you can find a way to make the electric sim for the o2 codes work start selling them and you will make a killing.
NGC PCMs use a 2.5v offset on their O2 single circuts. Where a normal O2 sensor reads 0-1v, the NGC is reading 2.5v-3.5v. Thats why the simulator won't work. An electronic simulator would have to have the same 2.5v offsett

I've installed wideband into several NGC vehicals to replace the upstream O2 and used its analog output to feed the PCM for closed loop. In doing so, I had to configure the analog output to go from 2.5v-3.5v.

All the PCM is looking for is a slight delay in the 1/2 reading compared to the 1/1. This is why non foulers seem to work. You could probably do that with a small circut as well.

In my 03, all you need to do is watch the CEL. After the first start up the CEL will light and then if it goes off a few seconds later, you're good to go. If the CEL comes on and then starts to blink for about 5 seconds, its "not ready".

The PCM will take up to 40 warm up cycles(cold engine to 100C) without a Code to go from "Not Ready" to 'Ready.'

yeah i know if it blinks if its not ready but i was wondering if there was a way with the predator to see what monitors are not ready
