Hey guys - i solved the problem!
brandy16 - i was thinking about what you said and was reading other posts about some people that had issues with the Predator when they were running turbo timers. when they shut off the ignition, the turbo timer screwed things up and was making the car rumble and also throw codes similar to what i was experiencing. that sparked a thought last night - i had an aftermarket alarm light installed in the magnum that activates when the key turns off. i disconnected it, reprogrammed the car and then fired it back up - no CEL and it shut off properly when i turned the ignition off. i've started the car 5 times since then and i've had no issues - which is totally unlike my other experiences.
i am now able to run the 93 CAI tune with no issues at all and am very happy. i am also very happy to report that it was a user error and not anything to do with the DS tuner. but you guys can keep this in mind if anyone else happens to experience something similar with an aftermarket alarm or other electronics that they might have hooked up. even though i did disconnect everything when i installed the tune, i would then hook it back up while the car was running and when i shut it off, that's when all the problems would start. it makes perfect sense now, but i can't believe it took me about 5 months to resolve this problem.
thank you both for all your help.

RE: 2005 Magnum RT 5.7 - major issues
I also have a 2005 Magnum 5.7L with K&N CAI, and I have problems with my U7135 Predator programmer, too. I chose to load the Performance tune with 91 octane and I actually put Sunoco 91 octane gas in the tank before the upload. The car ran fine under the 91 octane for two days. But now that I load the predatory pre tune, the engine runs very rough and and the shifting is even rougher. There is also a unusual noise coming from under my car. When I restore it back to the original, stock program, all this went away and now the car is running smooth again. Any ideas or suggestions?
I did do a update and a calibration download through this web site before preforming the upload to my car.

Pull the battery cables for a few minutes. Reconnect and it'll be fine. Common early 05 problem.

I have a 2006 300srt and get similar codes u110a with the predator car runs so rough I have to reload the stock tune then redo the predator tune so I thought it was because I was still using the predator so I bought the intune and now I still get the u110a code and now getting different codes when I run the factory tune I don't get any codes car runs fine ??
