I have the 91 oct tune installed, but don't have any trans adjustments options under modify tune parameters or in quick adjusts. I looked under modify stock tune and I did have some trans adjustment options, but have not tried anything yet. Not sure how the modify stock tune works? Does it adjust the settings of the 91 oct tune or do I have to install the orginal back up for the modify stock tune options to work?

The only thing the ECU learns is the range in which your sensors work so that if they go out of range your check engine light comes on. They do this because not all parts are built exactly the same, so you can have two of the same exact parst and both of them with perform slightly different then the other. Our automotive manufacturers have made it so the ECU's learn this range so that it can notify you when or if a problem comes up (note they do have an absolute max and min range in which the manufacture has set). This is why when you replace a sensor they recommend that you disconnect the battery as doing this erases the learned range and will allow the ECU to learn the new sensors range. As far as the PCM learning how you drive to adjust itself to extend the life of your transmission, I have heard this but have never really looked into it.

Their really is no set in period (or learn how you drive period) when you write a new performance code on your ECU, but more or less a period of time in which the driver has to learn or adjust to the new program you put in your truck.

Note: I am not a mechanic, but over the course of 8 years working with mechanic's and attending training coarses this is what I have learned. You can also can call any gold shield smog station in the state of california as ask them.

Hope this helps,

Josh
