I am running the U7164-9R12 revision. I believe it is the tow tune I am currently on. I was told the U7164-9R12a was just to accommodate newer truck cals so I didn't bother.
P.S. the tow tune indicates a regen for a few seconds then the message disappears. Regen does seem to continue for a while but not excessive.

I just registered, after purchasing a Predator U7164. I have not installed the tune yet but have my doubts about it's quality, judging by the previous post on this forum. Is there anything I need to know before installing the tune to get better milage on my Ford?
Yes.. if you are installing in hopes of better mileage, you are going to be sadly disappointed.

How can I get the same shift pressures that are in the 80hp tune into the 160hp tune? I have tried running the 160hp tune for a couple weeks and have not adjusted any parameters but I cant stand that every time i take off from a stop light the 1st and 2nd gear shifting on my auto trans feel like im going to get whiplash. What would I adjust and how?

In the modify tune menu you should see shift pressure or line pressure issues.

I've tried every calibration to get better MPG (that's WHY I bought it) I currently get about 12MPG on the road and 7.5 MPG pulling a 14000 lb. 5th wheel at 55MPH. I ONLY used the TOW TUNE pulling.

I still am having an issue with the shift pressure in the 160hp tune. I went into modify tune/ transmission/shift points, and all I can find is shift points not pressure. My options are 1-2 MPH 2-3 MPH etc.... or shift RPM 1-2, shift RPM 2-3 etc... Have yet to find shift pressure! I even went through 80hp tune to see all the transmission parameters for it and copied those same settings in the 160hp tune and 1 and 2 gear still shift extremely hard.

Anything going on with this or is it a dead thread?

An addendum to all the other issues. I loaded the latest revision u7164-9r12a just to see. Loaded the 80HP tune and changed the shift points dramatically. The tune is in and absolutely nothing changed re shift points at all. As in my posts in another forum the tune does NOT allow me to write to the transmission control module at all. Please note that the custom tune that was written for me DID write to the TCM. Please make sure the new revision actually does write to TCM!

You aren't going to get any help here. They don't care. Just write it off as a loss and move on.

I've had it with this POS and this "we're working on it" BS. I've had this POS for three years and it has NEVER worked as stated. I wonder how much they paid the magazine to lie about ANY gains. No response is expected AS USUAL!

Just won one against DELL Computer. Now they have to get me a new computer because of their bad video cards, that they knew about.
