Hopefully

Wish you guys the best of luck. If it is anything like the GPEC1 controller it's going make that "unfriendly" Ram PCM look like small potatoes.

Mike_Levy wrote:Yeah, it has the skip shift for economy reasons. People would are modding for performance don't care though, because they're buying automatics. Early testing is showing the automatics to be about a half second(!) quicker then the 6 speeds in the 1/4. They're running consistant 12.4s, and the sticks are in the 12.8-12.9 area.
Where are you getting this 12.4 info, I've seen one run that and it was in November 2010 and it was somewhat dubious. The ones I've seen run 12.9 to 14. Would like to see a video of a 12.4 stock other than the promotional run. I can provide the 14 video.

There are 2 or 3 12.4 runs on YouTube.

InsideLine ran a 12.6 not too long ago about a month or two ago.
The Dragpak ran 9.43 a couple weeks ago. :p
Anyway, what does it matter? Everybody knows the TR6060 is the inferior gearbox. It wasn't even supposed to be offered originally on the Challenger. It was just the manual fanboys who whined like little bitches that caused Chrysler to put it in. And it was so much slower then the automatics that they had to replace the 3.06 gears with 3.91s just to make it comparable. Thats getting more and more common these days. Chevy had to use a weaker motor in the Camaro autos so they don't roast the manuals. If you check the Vette or CTS-V boards, the automatics are always at the top of their Timeslip lists. Its come to the point where if you wanna shift your own gears, you better be prepared to be looking at taillights (or drive a 4 cylinder).

I would imagine it matters to those who have a 392 and those who are thinking of getting one to see what Joe Average is doing at the strip instead of a perfect run time. It matters if Diablosport can break the code and get some better times.

But every car and motor is different. So what one car/guy does, has no bearing on what somebody else will. My 07 C SRT8 made the same whp with just an intake and tune as my Jeep SRT8 did with a full top end build. Granted alot of that is due to the losses from the AWD system, but still, same motor, very different result.

Another one here for the 392. Got one a few days ago. Also I saw a 392 Challenger run a 13.8 @ 114 in orlando a few weeks ago. He was just breaking it in and not really giving it all it had off the line. But 114 trap speed in 85 degree weather says something about what the car is capable of. Just in the few days Ive had mine i can tell you the 6.4L has much more power than the 6.1 and i wont be suprised if I get low 12's out of it. Traction will be the problem. This thing will not hook on the street for nothin. i hope the track will be prepped good when I go in a few weeks. Anyway GET THAT 2011 PCM CRACKED!!!!

I pretty much have to wait untli June or July since I have a Green with Envy on order and production has not even begun on them, nor will it until sometime in May. So that gives time for the tune flles to get flushed out from my perspective

. I am sure I will order the tuner before I even pick up the car, along with a few mods so I can drive it from dealer to mechanic for upgrades. LOL
