The problem is with the solenoids on the pump and not so much the pump itself. You can not get just the solenoids and that is why you have to replace the pump as per the Ford tsb 11-4-22. The fuel rail sensor is on the right side(or passaenger side bank) fuel rail and the part # is 8c3z-9g756-a. Like I said I have replaced lots of high pressure fuel pumps for the very thing you are talking about, but if you had a scan tool you could check the voltage of the then fuel rail sensor during your concern or take the valve cover off and wiggle the harness to see if voltage changes.

If the predator lets you, look at fuel rail pressure (frp) . It should be .50 volts key on engine off and if not the sensor is bias. If you replace the sensor wiggle the harness and watch your pid in datalogger, it should not change and if it does you should replace the uvc harness as well. If all this checks out you may have to put a pump in it.

Go into the predator under diagnostics go to watch and record select all 6.4l parameters. Engine has to running you can record every sensor on the engine. The fuel rail sensor is located under pasenger valve cover wire harness plugs in front of cover. You will have to remove some things to get to it. My question is did you clear the code before you original back up back in truck.

Yes the fuel rail pressure is there look for fuel pressure in diagnostics where you record. It will be high pressure readings in kpa you will have to convert to psi. Leave your 4.0 dpf delete tune in install original back up back in truck from diablo. Also check alternator output 13.5 or higher. Also I had the same problem with my truck using 9t13g test crom with 80 hp tune I got the same code p0088 I install stock tune back in truck. Now ford has had issues with frp sensor going bad and leaking fuel into engine oil. Sensor is located under passenger side valve cover.

Bagger09 what type of things are you talking about removing.. wiring or equipment. you say under valve cover. do you have to remove the valve cover to get to the sensor. I received the wiring scematic. but would love a photo of the rail sensor with an arrow pointing to it. i have the new one and cant find one that fits its description. i have found several other sensors.

The fuel rail sensor is under the passenger side valve cover. It is the only sensor on the fuel rail. go to this link and watch at 7.28 minute mark and you can watch him plug in the sensor.

thanks Mutts. i was hoping this was a simple job replacing the sensor on the outside of the motor. i had no idea i had to remove the valve valve cover completely . No im gona start second guessing myself if i should do this or bite th bullet and take it to the shop for this. anybody have a estimate on what this little job cost. ??????

Yes better to take to a dealer you have to lift cab up to get valve cover off. And you do not just wrench back on to sensor there is a torque procedure 1.5 ft lbs and a 60 degree turn.
