Next step is to try 9r30l. I don't have it. Mike Litsch will have to post it tomorrow or Tuesday when he gets in.

What year car are we talking about? If its 08 or earlier, then nothing is gonna get you the Throttle Boost with that Predator. The Limited(l) CROMs only work on 09s and 10s. Thats how they shrink them to fit the older Predators, they remove the earlier CalIDs.

Wait...so if I get a newer predator I would be able to do so?

Yes, with a newer Predator you'd be able to use the full CROM files and have the Throttle Boost.

What's a way to verify I'm buying a new one? Serial number? "made for models 05'-10'?"

Go to:
Options>>Tool Info
If you see, hardware UNIV_REV2 , then you are OK to update. if you have anything else there, then you have a tool that does not support the newer updates.
