It seems that it is something specific to the truck (not the tuner) and that in order to troubleshoot it they would need to have the truck in their shop (or one of the other '09's having the same issue). Until such time, there really isn't much they can do. Although this sucks, I did appreciate the honesty that Vas gave me and also that I could return the inTune for a full refund. He said to keep checking in every couple of weeks and hopefully they can get their hands on one of these problematic trucks soon and come up with a solution. Again, shitty but better to return it for a refund and to call in and see if they have fixed the problem then having a $400 paper weight with no solution to the problem.

One final note - he also did inform me that a guy that called in a few weeks ago with the exact same issue used a Predator tuner with no issues whatsoever on the same truck. The predator has all of the same box tunes as the inTune and is cheaper to buy as well.

Hope this helps some of you guys out and at least you know versus not having the information and getting frustrated. Thanks for your help Vas, appreciate your honesty and good customer service!

Cheers,

Jim MacDonald

I have the Trinity and that works great on my 09 Ram, the intune on other hand has not worked at all. I have done all the updates and installed the lastest release that mike posted and still nothing. Problem is I purchased it from an online store and I am passed their return policy so I guess I have a $400 dollar paper weight until someone can get in there to work on the issue.

I don't know if this is being ignored now, or if you guys are just working that hard on this issue. Sure would be nice to know if you guys are making progress though!

I had the same exact happen with my brand new inTune tonight. I unpacked it, connected to my PC, registered it and updated the inTune. I connected it to my 07 300C SRT8 and it needed a calibration update as it was not supported. I connected to my PC and downloaded an updated calibration, connected to my car and updated the calibration. Then I went to tune it and as it is reading the PCM to back it up it will show a percentage and then "WAIT" pops up followed by the "Failure to read PCM". However, I was able to get past it.
I tried tuning it over and over and noticed the percentage would move a little more. After a few failures, I would turn off the car, disconnect the inTune, start the car for about 5 seconds and turn it off. Then connect the inTune and attempt to write a tune. Then it went got up to 8%, failed, retry, then 33%, failed, retried again and again. Finally 100% and I was able to continue on to write the tune. This took about 15 - 20 minutes to complete and approximately 20 retries, 2 car starts (not running for a long time, just a 5 - 10 second run time. I did this just to give the next set or attempts a fresh start over.)

I don't believe it has anything to do with the vehicle battery or voltage, as my vehicle has zero issues. I hope this helps resolve the problem.
