Thank black z for all the info. I wished it had worked out, but quality was misrepresented. I still can not believe stylish stainless steel case. I guess it must have some stainless steel screws holding the board in place. I was expect a cell phone quality touchscreen, it is not. For what you pay for this product I was expecting a better quality piece of equipment. I think you should let these guys speak their minds. They paid for product and I am sure they are disappointed too.

I got my tune today. It made my truck come alive. My truck is basicly stock. He adjusted everything from tire size to torque management. I was looking for better fuel mileage. He said that I should expect 2 to 6 miles per gallon better. I would happy with 2. He also put the dod back in. He said that your mileage will be better in town, but it will not help hi way. I just want to wish all you the best with this. I paid 300.00 for a tune and he came to me, installed ,did a data log and adjustment in the truck. I am going to run some miles on it and let you know. I aLso have a 2004 Denali he will be doing that next? He said it will make more of a difference than my 5.3. Good luck guys

Well DOD would only be helpful on highway. Should not even kick in city driving.
And don't expect 6mpg, that's highly exagerrated, won't happen.

He that he has been doing this for ten years and he had a few that got 6. He said was from poor tuning from the factory. We talked for two hours while he was tuning and I learn a lot. I went to Houston yesterday. 200 miles round trip. I averaged 14 miles per gallon. I am hoping for 16. I would be happy with 16. I think you will be happy once they get tcm support on the intune. My truck shifts so much better. I was going down our main road going thru town and the speed limit is 40. I had get my foot off the gas to keep at 40. I had to coast a lot . Going down the freeway is hard to keep it under 75. It is like you get in a new vehicile And you are not use to it yet.

My truck actually shifts really good now running the 87 octane tune, nice and firm at WOT, not much slipping normal driving like stock does, and it shifts much quicker. Would just like to get rid of some of these "nanny's" . It's a sham,e they are so detuned from the factory.
What is their explination (the person that did your tune) for DOD saving you mpg in town? He is definately wrong about that. Doesn't make sense to me because the DOD (AFM) was designed for highway driving under light load. In town stop and go isn't what it was designed for. It should not even switch over t o 4cyl mode until you are driving 45+mph and at low rpm's.

My truck will go in dod mode anytime I let off the gas. So if I am stopping it goes into dod mode. I like when I take off now I'm getting 6 mpg instead of 4 mpg. Also averaging 18 or 19 at cruising speed instead of 14 or 16 before. I am still hoping for 2 more mpg's. It looks like it might get it. I filled up Sunday and we put about 40 miles on the truck testing it and The mileage has been improving, You can try dod yourself. Try a tankful with on and one with off. See if it is better or worse. You have the intune to take in and out.

DoD parameters can be 'opened up' quite a bit, the tuner is 100% correct in saying you can find gains by playing with the settings. Thats what the MPG tune inthe inTune does for anything with a 5.3 or DoD, it opens up the allowable range for use of DoD.

Still looking for what reason it will help that the tuner told the OP...The OP didn't say anything about having it adjusted, said it was put back in. No mention of gains found, just that it was put back in....So why no highway gains then? When my DOD was on, that's the only time it would come on.....I hate this DOD stuff, glad mine was disabled a month after I got the truck.
And I hope his truck is not like running that MGP Tune, that thing was terrible in my truck. Made my Cruze feel like a muscle car compared to my truck.....What is the difference from OEM to the MPG tune.

He did not give a reason why. He did a test on a truck with it off for a month and did a test with on for month. The truck got better mileage in town than on the hwy. I am sure he tuned the parameters like Mike said. The dod never bother me. I have stock exhaust. I can not tell if it is on or not unless I look at my dash. He said to let him know if I was happy and he would change settings if I wanted.

Thanks.........Mine was noticable switching on and off, felt like the truck was missing so I tuned it out. Would be interested to know what he did exactly to make it work better in town. Mine never came on driving in town, ever, don't know why. I get better MPG's with it off running the 87 octane tune.
