Wow... from an original date of July 31st 2007 to by Dec 31st 2007. Just wow. Happy holiday's all. Hopefully you will get one for xmas.mikel wrote:We have these tools scheduled for release by the end of the year.
As for the 2nd gear prime deal, we have not yet looked into that but we will be looking into it.
Thanks
ElectricBlueHemi wrote:So, are you saying you guys know what changes you will be making to the TCM. You already have the code writing pretty much done for the TCM, it is just a matter of being able to tell the TCM to do what you want it to do. Am I correct, or completely off? Do you know if we will have the ability to change the 2nd to 3rd shift point? Also, will there be an option, whether through CMR or handheld, that will eliminate 2nd prime if we so choose? I ask because people are ruining transmissions when shifting into 2nd prime under WOT with moderately modded trucks.mikel wrote:I hear you guys loud and clear.
Unfortunately, we need to develop some new hardware for the Predators to allow them to talk to the TCM in the trucks, so we are currently waiting on hardware to finish this job.
Good news is that the majority of the code writing, and tuning, is done, so it won't be too long.
Thanks
Thanks,

2nd prime is a passing gear. When you are going 40MPH or so and you floor it, the gear it downshifts into is 2nd prime, not 2nd gear. 2nd prime uses the overdrive clutches, which are intended for cruising due to the smaller size when compared to the 1,2,3 drive gears. 2nd prime is not used when flooring it from a dead stop, passing only. The mushy shift is torque management, which is basically to make the shifts smooth instead of hard. But who wants that! From what I am hearing the transmission will be fully controllable with Diablo custom tuning. Although, I do not have a definite answer for the tuneability of the trans. Unless Mike says otherwise? Forgive me EBH but please explain "2nd Prime"....I have issues with the MUSHY shifts and the WOT 1-2 shift as it kills the ignition for a split second while the shift takes place......I guess to keep from killing the trans??
Will the "TOOL" correct this MUSHY shifting without destroying the drive train??
