Can't deal with reality, huh 05? :normal:

Selectively forgeting about the past. I can't do that. I've seen too many Korean pieces of shit. The dealer where I used to get my Jeep serviced also did Kias, and I can't tell you how many I saw with their motors out and torn down. Crap back then and crap now.

I have reasons behind my opinions of them. Its not like I'm just pulling hatred out of my ass.

I certainly can deal with reality. I can guarantee I did a ton of research on all platforms before I bought the Optima. Any one that can offer a 10 year/100k mile warranty on their power train AND stand behind it obviously has produced a reliable machine. One thing you need to understand is that Kia/Hyundai 5 years ago is not the Kia/Hyundai of today. Things change and a lot of time, effort, and money was put into these cars R&D to come up with what we have today. They ARE reliable and actually do have nice features. Are we driving a CTS-V? Not by any means, but we also didn't go out and spend $70k+ on transportation. To each their own.

You can think what you want, but you have no reason to come onto the thread bashing us and our cars because we want aftermarket support just like you do.

Actually, they'll try to weasel out of that warranty any way they can. Multiple reports of them not standing by it. Make sure you keep all your receipts and do oil changes every 3k, or when something major breaks they won't cover it. Hearing about that certainly didn't help my opinion of them.

I'm actually running Amsoil (I'm a dealer) and I always keep receipts whether I am buying a car or a stick of gum. I have read a few instances of the service department giving guys problems about warranty work, but 9 times out of 10 a call to Kia Corporate gets that taken care of. The only problem I have personally had was a little wastegate rattle, but that was fixed with a software upgrade.

Now that we have that out of our system let's get this thread back on track.

If you build it, I will come.... to the register to purchase.... and on Levy's tits.

Get the hell out of this thread Judge Judy. Who the hell are you to judge why someone would buy a car or not? We do it bc it's our money and we can do whatever we want with it. And if a valid tune comes out, I guarantee you'll sell a minimum of 20 in the first week from the forum.

I'm with Unreligion- If you can put out a tune for the 2.4L I'd be in for sure. The only shop that I know that got started on this was Concept-3 out in Brea, Cali but due to unfortunate events they couldn't come through all the way yet.

As stated hopefully you take interest in not only tuning the 2.0 but the 2.4 as well. 8)

-As to what is happening above- those who still believe that KIA/Hyundai are POS's; are the same people that talked sh!t about Honda/Toyota when they were on the come up and well look at them now. People don't want to see what they don't wish to believe.

I still see Hondas and Toyotas as pieces of shit. Gutless sheepmobiles. But at least Honda and Toyota (and Nissan) still care enough to offer V6s on their midsize sedans. Somthing Kia, Hyundai, Mazda, Chevy and Ford are too stupid to do.

Both companies are living on their past reputations. All of their recent vehicles are made like crap. Need proof, check out the most recalled vehicles in the past 5 years. Honda and Toyota lead the pack by millions.

Like I said above, I don't just pull stuff out of my ass. When I say something, theres a good reason for it.

Are you serious? An Optima over an S5? Not in a million years junior. A5 2.0T maybe, S or RS, no chance in hell. 4.2L 340hp V8 vs 2.0L 274 unusable hp I4. AWD vs FWD. DSG vs slushy automatic. Aniline leather vs the cheapest stuff Hyundai can find. Bang and Olufson audio vs some no name audio. Nicer? nah. Only thing nicer is the Optimas price, and styling is subjective.

To clear this up, I don't care what they do, as long as it doesn't affect the status quo. If they want to bring in new people to tune imports, so be it. The current people seem to have their hands full with the currently supported domestics though. I think getting customer support up to par (45 minute hold times), and getting the existing products right (Trinitys bricking during updates), should be the first priority before embarking on a whole new area.

Some of your facts I would have to agree with but some are off. If you are going to talk recalls, you need to post the percentage of recalls vs total sold. Giving the shear quantity does not make a valid argument b/c Honda and Toyotas have sold more wordwide than others. I'm not about to go look up the percentages so I don't know where they sit.

I'd trade in my Hybrid for a 2.0T knowing there's a DiabloSport Tuner. Had one on my 4.0l 2008 Ranger, KICKED SOOO much arse. Actually posted about it many moons ago. Went for something better on gas and sold the tuner with the truck. New owner is happy, but I'd love to start tinkering again, and since i've got history with Diablo i'd PRAY it be you guys!
