Re: inTune not recognized by WINDOWS XP
since it is an auto updater, it will update anytime there is something new...
you should have no problem installing Dataviewer 3308 to view log files on the PC.

But I did have problems installing the DataViewer...mikel wrote:since it is an auto updater, it will update anytime there is something new...

"The procedure entry point EncoderPointer could not be
located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll"
And the laptop does not recognize the inTune...
And has there been new files in the last 18 hours?
I had OKs after all the firmware on the first update.
Now I have *s after some of them...
And the versions have not changed from the first update.
Just the OKs to *s in parenthesis.
I might just cringe a little when I actually have to plug this into my OBDII port.

Re: inTune not recognized by WINDOWS XP
the (ok) or (*) are signs of the tool internally checking the databases, nothing to worry about.
there was a new update released yesterday, and another one today.
I have never seen that DV error, what windows system are you using?

Windows XP PRO Ver 2002 SP1
Could it be from the lack of internet service
or the ?missing? but is really there inTune
hooked to the USB port?
I have also posted the version running on the internet capable work computer...

Re: inTune not recognized by WINDOWS XP
no, you dont need internet for DV.
Sounds like there is a destination file issue, have you tried the install again?
Is there any option to ignore that issue?

Re: inTune not recognized by WINDOWS XP
There is no go around.
I tried at lunch.
I will try again tonight.
Do you need the inTune to be connected and
recognized by windows for the QV to load/work?
It seemed to load away on the work computer with no inTune connected...
Destination file?
C:\Program Files\DiabloSport\DataViewer 3.3
The QuickView.exe resides on the C: drive.
The install wants what location/destination for the install?
It loads on the work computer.
The home laptop is virgin from internet viruses and the like.
Nice fresh new build with no malicious software loaded.

This is like trying to make a silk purse out of a sows ear
First to laptop is not connected so it is not current for updates... esp the .net portion
- next you may be the ADMINISTRATOR but the problem is you must give the program ADMINISTRATOR RIGHTS (easy to do)
- next because you dont have internet on your laptop maybe MIKE can post a copy of the "UPDATE OFF" file for you so the inTune does not want to update everytime you hook it up. Install that file and any updates (maybe while at work so when you carry it to your laptop it is not going to want to check the internet first)
- next I assume you copied the Dataviewer setup file to a stick or something and carried it home for the laptop. If so uninstall the version you have now installed on your laptop and reboot your laptop, wait for it to fully reboot.
now without the inTune connected find your way to the Dataviewer download and RIGHT CLICK on the file/icon and then from the popup window select "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR" (this gives the program permission to install properly)
- next you want to connect your inTune...wait at least 10 min before you do anything else. Now even if the user interface opens or any other popup windows, close them and find your way to "MY computer" and then to the "inTune.exe file and right click on it/the icon and select "run as an administrator" here also and allow it to run.Once setup is complete you can disconnect the inTune wait 10 min and then reconnect the device it should start without problem.
- next whenever you get to work and want to chek for any updates simply connect and wait for the user interface to boot completly(10min)usually.
then at the top of the user interface select "UPDATE"> "Check for updates" allow the device to update if required and once it looks like it is complete...leave it alone still hooked up for another 10 mins for it to verify itself/databases, so they all show (OK) instead of (*)

My laptop just wont recognize the inTunes USB drive. Period. I have tried everything.Ill_Born_SS wrote:This is like trying to make a silk purse out of a sows ear.
Yea, if I wanted to be a BETA tester, I would have signed up for it...
First to laptop is not connected so it is not current for updates... esp the .net portion

There is only one user, Default User. I am considered the Administrator by the laptop.

Install that file and any updates (maybe while at work so when you carry it to your laptop it is not going to want to check the internet first)
My laptop does not even recognize the inTunes USB drive so the inTune.exe does not auto run on it.
No need for the "Update Off" file.

What version thats already installed?
now without the inTune connected find your way to the Dataviewer download and RIGHT CLICK on the file/icon and then from the popup window select "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR" (this gives the program permission to install properly)
Once again, I am the admin... And I got the QV program to finally load without clicking 'run as admin'.

inTune is not available in "MY Computer" or Windows Explorer.

I am not having any probs at work updating except that it does it
EVERY TIME regardless of how long it has been since an update...
I got the QV software to oload on the laptop last night, but the first pop-up
in the program shows supported devices and the inTune is not listed???
And iQV wont recognize the inTune connected to the USB port.

Re: inTune not recognized by WINDOWS XP
for the laptop
Try this:
If your computer does not see/find your inTune when you connect to the USB port.... follow this:
(inTune NOT connected)
Go to START>RUN, then type, services.msc in the box and hit enter. When the new window opens scroll down the list and find,
shellhardware detection
double click on it and another window will open
in this window set the, (start - type) to automatic and then Enable.
Click OK and close the previous windows.
Now reconnect your inTune and see if it works!
as for the DV comment it will work fine live streaming and for viewing datalogs you must copy them to the laptop and open them in DV
as for you being administrator thats great but if you dont give the program administrator rights it will leave out any notproperly signed info and therefore it will not install correctly.

The laptop computer was shipped from DELL with USB jacks.mikel wrote: really old windows service packs will not support external USB devices, which is likely the issue...
The USB jacks work for the ext. USB mouse and every flash drive
I have ever plugged into them. I can run my PLC programming
cables out of the USBs. A USB to serial port emulator works as well.
But not this inTune device that is suppose to look like a USB
drive to windows. The OS is not pre-USB.
not likely the issue...

Re: inTune not recognized by WINDOWS XP
I promise you, if you dont have service pack 3 installed, it will not see the intune drive, and its a windows issue....
I am not trying to be rude, but if you look around this forum, you'll see 1000s of people using intunes on hundreds of different PCs and they are all seeing the intune drive
When we get a random call from a customer who is not seeing the intune drive, we remote into their PC, and in these cases, the PC is always on an old Windows service pack, we update it,. and it works

I can see it being a windows issue.
I thought you were just guessing.
I will try and get a service pack for
XP and get it up to SP3 like the work
computer.
If it is a problem on my end, that is acceptable.
Maybe I should have investigated this
compatibility issue on the Forum before
purchasing. Otherwise, I am impressed with
the product so far.
Thanks for all the help...
Just for the info, the inTune is also not recognized
by another computer I have that is running
WINDOWS 2000 PRO SP4.
That makes it two out of three of the computers I
have tried to use the inTune with and no USB drive....
Re: inTune not recognized by WINDOWS XP
OK, I got Service Pack 3, the highest service pack for WIN XP PRO,
installed and the inTune is still not being recognized as a USB drive
by the laptop.
The same service pack level as the computer at work that does recognize
the inTunes internal drives in Windows Explorer.
Now what?
installed and the inTune is still not being recognized as a USB drive
by the laptop.
