My trinity goes to rainbow bands freeze-up screen when I plug it into the computer and try to update it as well as plug it into the OBD port. I suspect there are some issues with windows 8 and the DSdownloader software but none of the help I've sought makes any sense. People are telling me to try stuff that doesn't work. Can you tell me exactly what the problem is in laymens' terms?

simple fix is to load the 1r11 file to the tool using dsdownloader to fix this.
You can get the file from the trinity downloads page on our site.
Thanks

Is there another name for the 1r11 file? because that isn't showing up available on the downloads page..

I assumed paying $600 for the device meant it was going to work as soon as I plugged it in. To my great disappointment, I've been spending hours and hours of my freetime trying to get it to work, and I've come to the conclusion that it's defective. FOR THE AMOUNT OF MONEY THIS THING COSTS IT SHOULDN'T HAVE SO MANY PROBLEMS!!!!!!!
Electronics devices NEVER work as soon as you plug them in. I bought a PC last weekend and spent 5 hours updating Windows. Technology moves so fast that you need to expect to have to update anything you buy. You living on the West Coast has nothing to do with anything. They're closed on the weekends. Thats just how it is. You don't work 7 days a week, why should they?
this may have just made internet history and won both the worst and dumbest forum post ever...
actually may even be the dumbest thing ever said using any means of communication
