RE: Re: RE: One more thing...
Hopefully we will find out something. like to get a few extra horses by getting the fuel lifts were they need to be. do u have the 5.3 H.O. motor or the steel block 5.3? i have the aluminum block 5.3 H.O. with cat flowmaster 3 inch exhaust. cold air should be in soon.
when i get all this lined out with the computer would u possibly help me dial in my fuel. ??

There are lots of notes in the Help files for both the DataViewer and DSDL regarding Vista.
First off, he should check in the Getting Started section in the Communications Requirements page. There is a link to Vista drivers in there if his thinks his cable is has a PL-2303 chip in it.
Next, check the Troubleshooting section in the Problems Under Windows Vista page. He should try the "Run as Administrator" steps, check the DEP setting, and try that.
If that doesn't help, then the last thing to try: Right click on the desktop shortcuts, select properties, and in those dialogs he can set them to run in Windows XP compatability mode.

well i took the news on changing the usb serial driver to windows xp compatibility, and it works. Now im gonna do my first run tomorrow, and log the ones monteSS said to in his write up on adjusting the fuel peramaters. thanks guys for all the help. wouldnt have been able to do it without ya.
the way i understood in doing the log: about 60 to 70mph cruise with about a 8 or 9 second wot burst. anymore suggestions?.

don't have to worry about the WOT at this point... just do normal cruise for now to get the part throttle fueling dialed in first....
try to have your rpm's around 2k or more... if you have a 4-speed auto, cruise in 3... if you have a manual, cruise in 4th or 5th gear, not the highest/top gear...

EXCELLENT.... glad you got it worked out. Very difficult to diagnose/fix computer problems over a forum. I figured getteing several heads involved and throwing out suggestions, SOMETHING would work.WFOsierra wrote:well i took the news on changing the usb serial driver to windows xp compatibility, and it works. k, from the dataviewer, you need to go to File > Export to CSV and save the csv file to your PC...
then you can start up the log app and select that csv file to open, validate the parameters, and analyze it...
